I've been wrestling with whether or not to review this place. I did not like my overall experience. First, I liked my nails at the end and the staff were very attentive, polite and professional. I came in for a fill. The lady doing my nails kept stopping to greet people who were entering or answering the phone and scheduling appointments. She accidentally spilled some chemical all over my table in the process. Being no stranger to the process, I didnt care for my nail techs technique while doing my nails. She may need some practice with the drill. When my nails were finished, I spent about 15 minutes scraping stuff from my fingers. She said it was the nail powder. This has never happened to me before. Through the entire process, everyone remained respectful. I think good and kind people work here. I also think they need some updated education for how to do nails efficiently, some good practice with learning better techniques, and to crosstrain everyone with greeting customers/scheduling appointments.

I paid $115 for just the nail painting on my fingers and toes and the removal of the old painting that was it. I was happy to get in right away. The regular place I went to was closed, and this was the only place open at the time. So I decided to go. I'm not happy that it is peeling off already when I just got it done a little over a week ago. My normal salon I go to that lasts for 3 weeks without peeling or chips. So, I'm never going anywhere else besides my normal salon. A big, big, $115 dollar lesson learned for sure. At my regular salon, I can get a high-priced pedi and mani for the price of $125. I was shocked when they said $115 for just the removal of the old paint job and new paint. With no pedi or mani. And then to have them peel and chip. I'm not happy with the end results at all. Never again.

I’ve been coming to US nails for years. They were my go to nail salon and I used to recommend them to everyone, however as of recent the business has really gone downhill. I got my nails done the day before my birthday on 7/22 and I have never been in so much pain. I admit my nails were super short and I do chew on them, and correct me if I am wrong but I didn’t think that would directly affect my cuticles? Anyways they lady that did my nails made 5 of my fingers bleed and I left in pain from her cutting up my cuticles. I got a gel manicure over my real nails and the manicure itself looked nice, but now on 7/27 it is already chipping which I have not had happen with gel before. I will not be going back to this salon.

US Nails has instituted Covid protocols that include working by appointment only.

I go to US Nails to get my nails done on occasion. I love their salon, nail techs, and the work they do so I was excited to find out that they have expanded to provide more services to clients.

I made an appointment online (which was extremely easy) for a brow lamination and a lash lift/tint (which when booked as a package knocks like 30$ off.)

I went in at 1pm sharp and was promptly and courteously checked in by the young man at the counter.

I didn’t even have time to sit down and wait before Angela came out and welcomed me to follow her to the procedure room.

The entire salon is clean and well decorated and the procedure room was equally well appointed.

Angela and I discussed what I wanted done and I asked her if she could also tint my brows while laminating them. She informed me that the brow lamination included a brow wax, shaping, AND tint, which was a delightful surprise.

After that, I laid down on the table, popped in my earbuds, and Angela went to work on my brows first.

As she was working, I kept noticing how meticulous she was. She was constantly making small adjustments and it seemed to me that she was being extra thoughtful with what she was doing.

Angela’s technique was flawless. She has a gentle hand but didn’t seem to struggle with any aspect of what she was doing. No constant repositioning of pads or constant wiping. No shaking hands or nails pinching my skin while she worked. I was also delighted that I had NO stinging eyes during the lash lift and afterward, NO tint smeared at my lash line. (I’ve experienced all the above at one time or another while getting lash extensions or lash lifts/tints from others in the past.)

Laying there, I kept thinking, “this woman KNOWS her business.”

And I was right. She DOES know her business. She WAS meticulous in her detail. And the results are nothing short of wizardry.

She took my sparse, ill-shaped brows and made them FULL and shapely but still natural. My lashes look long and full. The curl shape she chose for me make my eyes look bright and warm...like I’m “smiling with my eyes.”

This morning I woke up to perfectly manicured brows and curled, full lashes, every bit as perfect as when I left yesterday. It was like waking up with perfectly micro-bladed brows and curled, perfectly mascaraed lashes.

I’ve made 4 stops today. The coffee shop, the gas station, Safeway, and then work. Everyplace I have gone, I have been told that “I look pretty today” or that “I have really pretty eyes”. And I’m not wearing a stitch of makeup. Just...WOW.

Needless to say, I will never go to anyone else for my lash/brow needs.

I will also be booking a facial with Angela this week as I have a strong suspicion that she will be equally attentive with my skin as she was with my brows and lashes.

Thank you, Angela. And thank you US Nails for expanding your services and hiring such talented people. I hope to see...

Tiffany is the ABSOLUTE BEST!! She did wonders on my color and style & I love the way she perfected my lashes! The environment is very welcoming & the staff is great! I go there for all my beauty needs!

Update 9/19: I've been going here for about a year now & I refuse to go anywhere else! The professionalism stands out & it is very apparent that the owners work hard to make each experience pleasant & high quality. I really appreciate that when I make my appointments, I am never kept waiting. I am the kind of person that enjoys coming in & being able to be serviced in a timely manner. I've been to so many places all over the world (being military) & it makes a huge difference when you can come into an nail establishment & do not have to sit around soaking in a pedicure chair with cold water or be stuck at a table watching everyone else get their services completed even though you made an appointment.

If you prefer a walk in environment, this is also an option but the good thing is that the staff will be honest with you about the wait time & suggest coming back or making an appointment if they don't have an available tech, which I would truly appreciate. There is nothing worse than being told it will be 15 minutes & a half an hour later you have to go ask about an update & you keep being told it will just be a few more minutes..... when it would be better to simply be honest.

You can also book online now when you have a preference for a specific tech. Be aware that booking online ensures you have that specific tech available for your services so if you have to cancel it must be done 24 hours before your appointment. You cannot just no show, you will be charged because you have taken up time that could be dedicated to another client. If you make a general appointment & do not request a specific tech the policy is different & I think you may cancel the same day... but everything is on their website so I would check to be sure as things change. I am guilty of having my favorites so I prefer to book with specific techs, lol (Tiffany, Jessica, & Peter).

Another thing I really like is that they have a kid policy that states children (under 13, I think) not receiving services are not allowed. I come to relax & enjoy myself & it is great not to have children running amuck! I have a toddler and I couldn't imagine trying to wrangle her while getting anything done, lol!

I come here for my nails (I fell in love with dip nails), pedicures, lashes, and even for my hair care needs. Tiffany did an amazing job coloring my hair etc & teaching me about the products that work well on my hair specifically. I am forever hooked on Moroccan oil products!! 🙂 Well, I felt the need to follow up with my review because after going for a while I wanted to make sure I could provide insight from a "regular" client perspective. I would highly recommend US nails, they aren't voted the best in Fairbanks for no reason, it is well...

For a few months I’ve been getting my eyelash extensions from this place and it was wonderful at first. Tiffany really can do some great eyelash extensions. I got my eyelash extensions done three times by her. The first two were just fine, the third time I had a reaction. When I looked it up the first thing that people said is that this happens but usually it’s when somebody has applied to much of the glue. Which makes sense because when she was doing my eyes the third time I had my eyes closed while she was doing my lashes at the end I couldn’t even really open my eyes because the glue wouldn’t let me open it all the way from the outer corners. She fixed it I thought it was no biggie but the next few hours after leaving I had a reaction. My eyelids were swollen and I was in so much pain. Couldn’t even go to work for next few days. So after reporting it to them the next day they said come in to be looked at it, so I did. They said to take Benadryl so I tried that and it went down a little but after that reaction my eyelids were so swollen my eyelashes and eyelash extensions immediately started coming off because it’s like a chemical burn happening to the eyelid from all the excessive eye watering I had from the reaction. I’m very upset, I really liked this place. As of two days back they texted me letting me know they canceled my upcoming appointment about removing my eyelashes that it would be unsafe which I understand cause they said the remover is very strong they didn’t want to chance a reaction happening to me again. But they said they won’t do my eyelash extensions anymore which is fine because I don’t want to get them done ever again. They have two glues the normal one and a sensitive one. They should test people before applying lashes with both to see if the person has a reaction. Tiffany’s daughter Angela said to me at the counter that they have patch tests. This all could have been prevented if they did those patch tests when I first started getting them done by Tiffany. They didn’t even ask in the texts how my eyelashes are or if my eyelids are okay. I would have expected for them to say still come in so we can look at your eyelids/eyelashes make sure everything looks good. They were even going to charge me $40 to remove them when it was a reaction from to much glue. Never again will I return so unprofessional. They don’t care, and the front desk people are legit snobbish. It’s literally like the movie mean...
