My stay was unpleasant. The only good things about this hotel were the staff's friendliness and the convenience store in the lobby.
I don't have enough characters to discuss superficial issues, so I'll just say the mix of modern and old was jarring and only served to make things look dirty.
The "green" design was unpleasant. The lack of bathtub or lock on the bathroom door were especially irritating. The restroom design (a large open space with a toilet and shower) did not retain heat and made it cold and uncomfortable to shower. The huge glass panel in the restroom serves only to prevent people from leaving the bathroom light on as a nightlight, given the way the light spills right over the bed and makes it extremely bright in the bedroom. In fact, there was not a single light in the place that could be used as a nightlight, as they were all too bright and/or situated in a manner which prevented them from being dimmed. It would seem as though these features were intentionally designed to decrease water and electricity usage by guests, but it mostly served to make me regret my choice to stay at Aloft.
I'm assuming the horrible acoustics were also a result of the "green" nature of the hotel, or perhaps just shoddy building practices. I was on the 13th floor, but several times I thought people were standing outside my window because I could hear entire conversations going on, and that seemed to be where the sound originated. At one point, my friend and I both heard a sound that made us think someone had thrown a rock at the window - again, unlikely on the 13th floor. Every time someone walked through the hallway, the wireless card reader on my door made a noise like it was trying to read their cards, so I constantly thought someone was trying to enter my room as I slept. The most disturbing noise was the strange grunting/gurgling sound that I heard one afternoon in my ceiling. It sounded as though a large animal was crossing above my room as it traveled from one side, across the room, and through the opposite wall. It was unnerving.
I'm usually not a very difficult person to please when it comes to hotels. All it takes to satisfy me is a clean place to stay, a warm bath, and a comfortable bed, but the only one of those I got at Aloft was the comfortable bed, and even that is debatable. I have no intention of staying at an Aloft hotel again, and I'm seriously considering moving away from Marriott entirely if this is the...
Read moreI just want to preface this feedback with a statement that we are not a customer that submits complaints and we are not demanding when we travel. When booking our 4 night stay in ft worth, i did have complications making reservations getting connected rooms. It took me nearly an hour to do booking and making several calls to confirm. Inconvenient but I got through it. Then Our recent stay at Aloft in downtown Fort Worth was very disappointing. The rooms were nice/clean upon arrival. Beds were comfortable and indoor pool and location was great. The customer service was ABYSMAL. We were greeted upon arrival by a rude front desk clerk. We brushed off the initial experience. The following days it was apparent that housekeeping staff was inadequatee. They were not offering housekeeping due to covid, five, but i would expect minimal maintenence. Towels were thrown in the hallway from the pool outside of rooms for days at a time. New towels weren't stocked at the pool nor the area checked for garbage from the days prior. After our second night we needed our garbage emptied and some fresh towels (towels were not drying for reuse when hung in bathroom). I was instructed to place the garbage and towels in the hall from our 2 rooms, which i obliged. 4 trash cans and an additional bag and a pile of towels remained in the hall for 14 hours. We reminded staff multiple times to please remove the trash, which was starting to smell. They never came and the would ignore our requests and we finally had to call and demand immediate removal after 10 pm. We had to retrieve our own towels after asking 3 times. Staff was rude and offered us no apologies. My husband was also walking our children (2 and 4 years old) around the city center complex adjoining the hotel) and the security guard on sat am shouted obscenities at him for being near the grass in front of hooters. Absolutely inappropriate at all and particularly in front of toddlers. I heard from another guest that they had a similar experience from the security. When it came to billing, I now see that my rates were modified from my initial booking, with each of the four nights being charged a student rate, which i will now need to resolve. Very disappointing, i will not go back to a Marriot hotel after...
Read moreWe had a great stay at the Aloft in Downtown Fort Worth recently. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They were accommodating to all of our requests and even had dog treats for Bear. They were very pet friendly and even majority of the other guests were loving our dog, Bear, and he was loving them. We had a beautiful view from our room and the location was ideal. We walked everywhere. We did have to pay for parking at the Hotel, definitely would be nice if it were cheaper or free if you are staying there. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely stay again and will recommend to friends and family!|There are a few things below I would recommend for updates and additions to the rooms for an improved experience, especially if you are staying for an extended stay. The shower was huge but could definitely use a bench and an additional shower head would be nice if possible. Hooks are definitely a need, especially in the bathroom, towel hooks or bars by the sink is a must. Additional hooks outside the shower or as close as possible to hang your bath towels is a need. You could even add a few inside the shower. A microwave would be great to have in the rooms. Overall, the room could use more lighting, specifically brighter reading lights by the bed and definitely more lighting on the living room side. There was not nearly enough lighting on that side if you wanted to work at the coffee table. Another desk chair would be nice too when you have multiple people working from the rooms. Another suggestion is more art on the walls, in the toilet area and on the empty walls around the room and near the entry to the room. It would be nice to have some ceiling fans, over the bed and in the living space. Some type of dog area would also be great! We found one small patch of grass a few blocks down but having one on the hotel grounds would be helpful. And lastly, bathroom soap in a dispenser would be so much better than the bar soaps. Plus, if there are multiple people in the room, everyone isn't using the same bar of soap. I am starting an online business and bath product will be part of it. The brand is Unblemished Love and could be a great addition to...
