I went to get my nails done here with my sister yesterday. We both wanted to get a design on our nails. My sister wanted lines on the edges of her nails, to which her nail tech said would be a total of $45 +$30. For some simple line which she ending up opting out of but regardless of this ended up paying $45 for dip mani, +5.00 for added tip nails, +5.00 for the shaping of said added nails and off course the actual tip.
My experience was a bit different, but not really. I got a dip mani. I wanted a design on each ring finger. The design was a hispanic embroidery floral look design and a "pink pedi" I think that was the name. My pedi was ok, nothing more, nothing less. The man doing my Mani dip was kind. However, cut or open skin with the file or nail trimmers a total of 5 times. I was unaware of a few of these until I put hand sanitizer to disinfect the 2 that I was aware of at the end. As he was doing the design I noticed his confidence go down as he struggled to make the floral pattern and by the time he finished he asked if this is OK I quickly glaced and said "it was fine." I didn't really take the time to examine the look till after I left (that was my mistake). He asked me to pay while I waited for my toes to dry so I asked how much it was going to be and he quoted the price of the nails to be the $45 for dip mani + $10 for the design plus the $42 for the pedi + plus I added the $20 tip 10 for each technician. As we headed out of the nail salon, I washed my hands, and then I sanitized after, this was when I realized the other small skin openings which prompted me to pay more attention to my nails and design. I then realized it was poorly made and looked not great, to put it kindly. I then told my sister I'll just get over it (Also my mistake) and went to run our next errand. However, after we where done with our errands about 2 hrs later I decided to go back and ask for them to remove the design and a refund. I am not a confrontational person, for many reasons, so I said "please dont hate me but can you please remove the design I dont think its well made and can I please have a refund, for the design." The lady that helped me removed the design but didn't remove the dust before putting the glossy coat of nail polish on so it's a bit grainy. She left me there, waiting for it to dry without saying a word. I waited a while, not knowing what to do. I touched my nails, and it was dry, so I headed to the front desk. The same lady asked if it was dry, I said yes. I asked for the $10 refund. She said she couldn't give it back because the person had done the design, I in response said I don't think it's right or fair for me to pay for something that I didn't end up with. I asked her to wait a moment, pulled out my phone, and showed her what I wanted. She then realized that it was nowhere near the end look, but still she said sorry I can't refund you, but I can give you a $10 gift card to use next time. By this point I was upset and in my head said why would I even comeback here when both my sister and I did not get what we initially wanted, I got all these cuts and knicks and it is clear that they are shady and dishonest. I also didn't want to fight for $10.00 so I said you know what I'm good. Turned and left.
You may ask why, then did you write this novel of a review? Well, the more I think about it, it's the money grab for me. The actual fact is that I paid for something I did not receive, and if I did that, I wonder how many more people do that 10 + 10 adds up quick. I wasn't even asking for a full refund I just wanted what was fair because in my mind I was interested in giving them a second chance. The money hungry attitude killed that for me. As a person that works in the beauty industry, I have delt with difficult customer, and know how hard that can be so I avoid being that person to my loss. HOWEVER, In the couple times in my 12 yr career, I have had an unhappy customer. I have either not charged at all or refunded completely for the service, which is the right thing to do. That's just my...
Read moreDO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!!!!!! My cousin and I went a year ago for a pedicure and it was great. I brought my friend here last weekend and we both enjoyed our pedicures, but I have never seen such ugly manicures in my life. I wish I would’ve taken a picture of how nasty they were. The guy doing my nails did not shape them, he used the nail dry instead of the clear coat on some so 4 of my nails were matte and the others were half shinny and half matte. My nails looked streaky (it was supposed to be dip) and they were all textured. Not one nail looked the same as the other and all were different lengths. He didn’t do anything to my cuticles. I paid because I felt bad, but when I sat in my car I was in tears as was my friend. We could not believe how bad our nails were. We walked back inside and asked for them to remove them and for a refund on the nails because we did like the pedicures. We let the ladies who did our pedicures keep the full tip. The manager did not want to give us a refund. She called the two guys over who did our nails. My guy threw his hands in my face and walked away angry. The manager even said mine looked bad and said she would refund me. My friends guy got in her face, towered over her, and yelled at her. The manager had to hold him back. The manager refused to give my friend a refund. After a constant back and forth we were both awarded gift cards because they refused to put the money back on our cards. Luckily someone gave us cash for the gift cards and we left to get our nails fixed. Dream Spa Nails was AMAZING. They are located on 377/Denton Highway. Please do NOT go to Onyx Nail Bar. I should’ve listened to all the bad reviews. I beg you, do not waste your time at Onyx. Thank you Dream Spa Nails for fixing my nails. By far one of the best manicures ever. I will not go back to Onyx even for a pedicure as I feel it is an unsafe environment because both of the men were close to getting physical with us. I wish I could give...
Read moreI gave this place more than one try before deciding to leave a review but service is inconsistent and my last visit will definitely be my last! No one greets you upon arrival or provides a wait time unless asked. The bar and decor are a nice touch but the massage chairs are the worst I've ever sat in, especially for the prices! As I waited for service the last time, a lady (that arrived after me) sat next to me. When the tech came to the front to ask whose name was written on the service sheet, she ignored me and asked the lady sitting next me if her name was "Natalie" as written. Instead, she asked everyone else in the waiting area and only after they all said no, she seemed disappointed that I was, in fact, Natalie. It was almost as if she wanted everyone but me to be Natalie. Once I was seated (directly next to the same lady that arrived after me), someone came by and offered HER a drink but did not offer me so much as a water. After my pedicure began, I politely asked my nail tech to use the electric file on my toes to even the surface, to which she replied "yes, sure, no problem. I will file for you." Of course I dozed off in the chair for a few minutes only to look down and see that she began painting my toes and they weren't filed evenly as requested. So I quietly asked if she could file my toes so that the polish looks smooth. She then became agitated, pulled her glasses off and threw them on the cart before going to get the electric file. I didn't understand why she would be upset because, even though she did not fulfill my request, I was not upset with her. I was calm and requested that she file. At this point, her attitude made me uncomfortable and I was ready to leave. I intended on getting an eyebrow wax but decided to leave instead. Again, this was not my first visit but my overall disappointment will not lead me back...
