This location ha everything. If you're looking for ocean view dining with live music, or casual dining, it's got both. There's a convenience store (ABC Stores) and high end name brand stores (Loui Vuitton and Lululemon to name a couple).
My favorites are Mahina (maybe because one of the girls is another Oregonian, but definitely because of the Boho style clothing), Blue Ginger (for colorful flowing garments at a decent outlet price), and Cinnamon Girl (another wonderful boho style shop). There's also an escape room and a couple of shops where you can plan some tours or adventures.
There's a parking lot, if you feel like driving. It also happens to be on the bus line for the 25 and the 28, which run about every half hour. There is a large play structure and splash pad, so the kids can play and cool off.
Leilani's does the most delicious tacos, on Taco Tuesdays. Nikki's Pizza down stairs is great for a quick slice of pizza. And if you're craving a frozen treat, there Froyo, Hagan Das, and a shaved ice shop.
Hilo Haddie's is a great place to pick up some souvenirs. Make sure you say hi to Ulu if you stop in. He's a wonderful dancer and a very pleasant personality.
If you're staying anywhere in Kaanapali Resort area, this is definitely a must stop location. An added bonus, if you visit the ABC store and you save your Reciepts, after you've spent over $100 you get a free gift. Which is easy to do if you get your water, alcohol, snacks, or a lunch here. They've also got lots of souvenirs to look...
Read moreMy wife comes here for the shops, I come here for the restaurants. We both dislike the parking! I actually do not like coming here due to the parking, but I am giving 4 stars because we still come here EVERY visit when we are in Maui.
Quality/Quantity - Good mix of high end shops, boutiques, restaurants, and middle end shopping. Parking is challenging. Shops are okay. Restaurants are great. We ate at Hula Grill, see other Yelp. Leliani's on the beach and Monkeypod Kitchen is their newest addition, guess they are not new any more. :)
Atmosphere - Mall with small food court and some great restaurants across the beach and water! Paid or validated parking. Fairly large parking garage, yet they are always full. And for some reason many people can not navigate the driving in the parking lot, so please be safe. When we stayed at the nearby resorts (Marriott and Westin Hotel), we used to take our leisurely walks here (then lug my wife's purchases back...). Open 7 days a week, 9am to 9pm. They also get bus loads of people shuttled in from the nearby resorts.
Service - Good.
Price - Depends, from middle to high end prices.
Owner Comment - Congrats on all your success; you have a great location. Not sure what I can recommend to improve your parking situation...?
Also you need to re-certify your website, it is giving...
Read moreWe spent over $100 at the flip flop shop right before they closed, and the lady forgot to validate our ticket as we were hustled out the door. We showed the receipt at the front parking and they wouldn't take it. They told us to come back tomorrow and go to the store for them to refund this money back. Right, pay more parking fee to right the situation we were not at fault at! The point is we made large purchases and they wouldn't waive the parking. Not our fault the lady handed back to us the parking ticket unvalidated.
They don't advertise the validation, nor is it anywhere written on the ticket. Plus, from past experiences, its a hit or miss which stores validate it. Basically they are minting money from tourists. Such a trap! There's plenty other places to shop without needing to spend half the time strategically planning what and where to buy to avoid paying an exorbitant parking fee. On top of dealing with rude parking employees! I am on vacation, this is too much stress! People come here to spend, and have a good time. This experience just ruined the mood. I rather give this $120 to the homeless guy outside the gates and I'd feel happier than let it be taken by some penny pinching petty...
