Went to see Warcraft 3D. It has been listed Monday - Saturday (but for some reason not Sunday) for showings at 4:25 and 9:50. Bought 2 senior + 1adult tickets, popcorn, hot dogs, nachos and some drinks and our tickets. $60.00+ grand total. They gave us 3D glasses and brought our hot dogs and nachos to us when they were ready.
Very small box theater, no smell. The movie started, but was not in 3D. I mentioned this to one of the young men behind the counter. Minutes passed, no word. The young man had just said he would check it. But this time I was told he would have to check with his manager. Finally they told me the 3D projector was not working correctly. Said they had been having trouble with it. Nothing about this on their site at that time.
We were offered some free passes but refused them, said we would not be back and would just ask for a refund of the ticket prices. We were 30 minutes or so into the film by that time. We settled in to watch in 2D.
But another man comes in and said we would have to leave if we were going to ask for a refund. So we said we would leave, and we left immediately. Paid with debit, was told refund could only be in cash. I was glared at by this new guy who had showed up and basically kicked us out.
Without exception, in 30+ years of going to movies, if there is an issue on their end, we are allowed to finish our movie (if the issue has not interfered with playback) and we are issued full refunds as well.
Because of how my parents and I were treated I can not recommend this theater. Food was OK, staff was courteous. If you want to see a movie in Hood River, stick with Andrew's Pizza and Skylight Theater. Limited selection, but excellent food, seating and staff. Very comfortable; we watched Now You See Me 2 in 2D. $89.00 purchased 2 senior and 1 adult ticket, 2 pints, soda and...
Read moreLet it be known, this is a small town movie theatre, they are unprofessional & depend on the "loyalty" of locals who visit them out of Convenience. Keep reading... . . Customer Service: (#1) This theatre hires almost exclusively the town's teens whom are entering the work force or whom are still "green" and Not seasoned in Customer service. This is acceptable, however these employee's are also either (A) Not trained very well or (B) Not having Universally standard policies enforced in their work space. In other words you usually need to ASK them to wear/change gloves or Wash hands after handling Money or Machinery and then your Food. They also tend to be visibly Concerned and/or Judgemental of certain individuals who walk in for no obvious reason. #2) The establishment has never been reachable by phone in the 5+ yrs I've been visiting. The number Google maps has is their "movie line", any and All dial tones made during the call like "0","*", or "#" will prompt the automated system to end the call abruptly. So don't count on calling to ask if the facility is wheelchair accessible or accommodating to those with hearing impairment (info that can actually be found on their website, though inaccessible while driving for example) or simply All Sold Out for a particular showing, etc. They are email or walk-in only, if you'd like to contact them. #3) They have often forgotten or neglected to close the Auditorium doors after the start of the movie so you have to miss vital explanations and such during the opening scenes, instead hearing sounds from other auditoriums or people chatting & children playing...
Read moreI was completely shocked by the treatment I received tonight. I brought my ten year old son to see Wacanda and had a water bottle in my purse. They asked to search my purse at the ticket counter and let me through. It was under my wallet because I had just spent $50 on tickets, popcorn, drinks and candy. A woman then came into the theatre to my seat to confiscate it in front of my son and other patrons because apparently the teenager who I purchased from saw it in my purse . I had nothing to hide and didn't realize I was doing anything wrong. It was water, not alcohol, and I'm a 50 year old mother trying to enjoy a nice evening with her son. Then a woman came in several times after and asked me to get off my phone and to remove my foot from the chair in front of me. I was mortified by the unreasonable attention and distraction to others. I was "on call" so checking my phone and resting my calf on the chair with an empty theatre and no one in front of me for rows. When I left, the manager gave me back my water bottle and threatened that next time if I came in with an outside drink, I would be kicked out. As a business owner in town, I found this treatment unacceptable and appalling. I have supported this theatre with advertising and gift cards for my clients for years and have no choice but to discontinue any financial support for them due to their unprofessionalism. No wonder the theatre was empty. A dying business for a reason. This is honestly the first time I have ever posted about anything but it felt necessary because of the humiliation and mistreatment. Time for some staff...
