Would leave 10 stars if I could. We bought a used 2016 Suburban LT with dual DVD players. They had to use the radio to play audio. First long drive and we noticed how static was bad in valleys. It's 2020, do we have to use radio FM frequencies people for car audio? Then on second long drive one unit broke, and the second made horrible noises. Clearly the dealer threw the cheapest model in there to sell it. Took it to Speakerbox and right off the bat I could tell they are not some cheap company trying to make a quick buck. Grace, their sales representative, spent a LOT of time with my wife trying to understand the situation and our needs. They took it back, diagnosed it HEAVILY, and actually found an existing problem. Whatever genius installed those originally screwed up our air bag wiring. Not only did they fix all the wiring, they performed quite the thorough analysis, for free. Any company that does that, clearly cares about customers and isn't just trying to turn a quick profit. We then started working with Alex, the store manager to build a solution. At one point Alex was rushing to UPS warehouses on our behalf just to meet our schedule. Who does that? Talk about being nice and going above and beyond. NOT THEIR FAULT, but one of the units had an issue, and they rushed out a replacement. Everything, and I mean everything is given the best professional effort and attention to detail. We actually pivoted mid-install to a better setup based on HOURS worth of phone calls that Alex made to the manufacturer to better understand our situation. They worked very hard to go back and forth on our behalf a lot of times to make it as smooth as possible for us. When anything went wrong they fixed it, or made it right on our behalf due to issues outside of their control. They do not give you a 9-5 effort. After we made a final decision based on excellent input, they gave us an incredible solution. Dual channel headphones so the kids in the back can switch from their movie to the middle row movie, or we can all listen in the car to one movie - and the audio quality is perfect. No FM channel needed! Best of all, mom and dad in the front don't hear anything if we choose. We can listen to the radio, bluetooth something, talk on the phone (through the car) and both rows are watching their movie(s) independently. I can finally take a long work call in the car and the kids can still watch a movie. We LOVE it! Best of all, we know Speakerbox stands behind their work. Shout out to Isaac and Trey for a phenomenal install. Our car was NEVER mishandled. If you're seriously curious, ask anyone their what it takes to become an installer/Technician there. Mind blown. If we ever move from HSV, I'm driving across the country to get back to Speakerbox. Nobody will ever touch my cars again! Thank you ALL for your awesome team effort to make one VERY...
Read moreTook my Brand new 5k mile car to them based off their reputation and got a mixed feeling about the work done.
This was a quite pricey instal, over $10k, full SQ system, sound deaden all doors and trunk, custom sub box, rebuilt trunk floor with amp rack in spare tire well. While they had the car, I requested to get pictures as they progressed, only transparency I got was on the basic dimensions of the sub box.
They had the car for 2 weeks, pick the car up and it sounds great, sub box, trunk, amp rack, custom tweeter pods all look great.
After spending some time with the car and trying to sort out all the little rattles, I discover a lot of shoddy work. Bad amp wiring, loose ground on my 12v battery arcing, missing interior clips causing rattles, loose clips rolling around, copper strands and wire jacket trash etc, NO SOUND DEADENING AT ALL in my rear doors, and what sound deadening there is in my trunk hatch and front doors just kinda looks like a bunch of random pieces, and most of it not properly adhered, ie falling off. I struggle to even find a picture on google where deadening is installed this bad. Deadening in spare tire well looks good, and the outer door skins are covered better than the inner. Billed $1000 in sound deadening, 44sq, inner and outer skins of 4 doors, plus trunk and hatch.
Got sincere apologies for the wiring, took the car back up there to get the rear doors finished and it matches most of the rest of the sound deadening. They didn’t cover the big hole in the rear doors for window regular access, so I’ve got flapping plastic sounds to go with my mid bass.
During the process of doing my build and the following week, they never posted up any pictures of it. So don’t think like I did and assume that your instal might resemble a build that they DO post pictures of.
Way to expensive to have to come behind them and sort...
Read moreI returned to the Huntsville area in 2020 from living in Germany. I purchased a used SUV the following year. Speakerbox helped me upgrade my stereo sound system. They helped me develop an awesome sound package, which included new speakers, custom built speaker box, subwoofers, and amplifiers. Because my taste in music is very eclectic, I needed professional clarity, as well as pounding lows, while still using my surprisingly nice factory stereo. The Speakerbox team gave me exactly what I wanted. This was my first professional build, and the staff patiently walked me through the process and the pricing.
I’ve made a few more upgrades to the exterior of my used SUV. I get many compliments on it. But to this day I’m still in love with the professional grade sound Speakerbox created for me.
I’m now returning back to Germany, and due to the rules of shipping I needed my custom built subwoofer speaker box mounted to the interior of my SUV. Some of staff of Speakerbox remembered me and my SUV, and gladly took care of my mounting requirements without hesitation, and a week later contacted me to ensure my SUV passed inspection and was shipped without any problems. That’s what honest customer service and true dedication look like.
Thank you Speakerbox for supporting me, as I return overseas to support our government and our...
