Old House Depot LLC — Attraction in Jackson

Incredible experience! This place is a little difficult to find at first, but if you drive behind the boot place it's a big warehouse full of great stuff. The owners and staff are friendly, helpful, and fun to talk to. Be forewarned there is no a/c, as it is a big warehouse, but it's open and there is a fair breeze so it isn't sweltering. They have a menagerie of all sorts of architectural salvage from wood beams, fireplace mantels, cornice pieces and hardware to windows, lighting, and all sorts of various antique accents and additions. Prices are more than fair. If it isn't priced already they price it at the counter and it's very reasonable. They have t-shirts for sale too, and just about any knick knacks you can think of. Old House Depot is a great place to look for old antique hard to find parts if repairing a old house or if you just want something old looking to go into your home. Their customer service is great. The only downside I can say is they are a victim of the success of the salvage industry. It used to be you could get these treasures for a decent price because they were "salvage" but now quick change of name to vintage or antiques and now every salvage operation becomes an upscale high price boutique operation. Jim, Anthony and the entire crew are enthusiastic about salvaging and so helpful with repurposing ideas and altering pieces in their wood shop. You can pick out all kinds of old wood and chipped-paint wainscoting to turn into custom frames or utilize as unique components to new construction. The possibilities are endless.
