If you are looking to purchase alpine touring gear there is no other place in New England that does it better than the folks at White Mountain Ski Co. The staff are extremely knowledgeable, patient, and friendly. They are committed to ensuring you are happy with the gear you purchase, and my experience is proof of this.
I purchased my alpine touring set (boots/bindings/skis/skins) from White Mountain Ski Co, but after a couple of adventures I realized the boots were not the right fit for my style of skiing. I brought them back in and they provided several options to solve the problem (with a range of price points, which was very considerate). I ended up going with a different boot and they only made me pay the small difference in price! They even re-mounted my bindings to fit the new boots free of charge. I have been happily skiing with my new setup and so grateful to the folks at White Mountain Ski Co helping me get into this crazy amazing sport.
One tip: they get busy on Saturdays in winter/early spring, so try to go on a Sunday afternoon or a weekday when they're open if you need a lot of one-on-one attention, though they still do a good job of managing their busy shop. 😊 Even if you don't ski, I recommend stopping in for a cup of coffee and pet the dogs and see if...
Read morePatience and due diligence is an understatement when it comes to describing my experience with Chris and the shop on my quest for my first ski setup. I live in Philadelphia but knew I wanted to buy from these guys since no touring equipment is sold in my area so I started communicating with them via email in March. After a copious amount of questions and concerns were voiced followed up by tons of advice and education, we narrowed it down to what we believed would work best for my requests and ability level. Then came the waiting game for supply chain and stock availability to finally schedule the mission-based trip up to Jackson. I spent hours with Chris trying on a ridiculous amount of boots who somehow kept track of all my comments on how they felt and fit to help eliminate and find my glass slipper of a boot. He was mindful of my budget and even talked me down from a few unnecessary items, all while sharing pro-tips along the way. Never once did I feel intimidated by or a burden to Chris or any of the other guys in the shop who all just shared their enthusiasm with me getting dialed in to my dream set-up. I can’t recommend these guys enough, they’re the real deal and I can’t wait to come back up and ski some of their events and say hi because I forgot to...
Read moreIf you're looking to rent or buy AT ski or split board gear in NH, VT, or MA this is the place! They have a cozy little shop located in North Conway, NH. You walk into the smell of amazing fresh coffee as they have a barista station at the entrance selling their own in house roasted coffee. The shop is packed with everything that you could want or need in the backcountry. All the gear is cherry picked by the staff who are all super knowledgable as they live and breathe backcountry touring. My wife and I came here with the goal of renting an AT ski package for three days and then buying her a setup. They made things super easy and got her dialed in on exactly what she liked after trying three different setups. After touring the first few days I was having issues with my boots and my feet were killing me and constantly going numb. They helped me heat mold the liners while spot treating the pressure points from my feet and got me setup with some Superfeet insoles. Now after a full day of touring my feet feel great! The last day we were there a buddy of mine asked me to check if they had a specific part for his split board bindings that he couldn't find anywhere. They went down into the shop and came back up with the exact part! Above and beyond...
