I hesitate to write a review for this place for fear of it being discovered - but, as Google keeps asking me, I must oblige.
Jasper's Dog Park is a nice clean environment to get your dog some socialization and exercise. The visitors generally clean up after their dogs and are personable, and there is plenty of shade. The terrain is entirely dirt and wood chips, with the occasional root peeking up through the tarp layer. In four weeks of daily springtime visits, I haven't spotted a single tick or flea on my dog!
The park features a handful of benches, an out-of-the-way little agility course, and a short little hike up to the top of a wooded hill, as well as a separate small-dog enclosure (though I have seen a few very energetic big dogs leap the fence between the enclosures, so keep an eye on your puppers).
Altogether this is a lovely, tucked-away spot to get some sun and some shade for you and your furry family members.
If you visit, consider donating to the park! There is a contributor board showing all the people whose generosity keeps the park going! They maintain this lovely space, so why not help out and give back to the community?

Read moreGreat, clean dog park; however:
The owner of two bulldogs named Will and Freddie should be banned from the dog park. The owner allows the dog off-leash before reaching the actual off-leash area where other dogs and people have been attacked by Will and Freddie. Once inside the dog park, Will and Freddie will go around aggressively sticking their tongues up other dogs' privates and proceed to hump them. The owner allows Will and Freddie to do as they please and will not pick up after them. Furthermore, Will and Freddie will guard the entrance and attack/hump every dog that enters. It is an absolute nightmare when these dogs show up and it makes every other dog and dog owner tense.
Going to the dog park is a privilege for well-behaved dogs, not a right. The owner of Will and Freddie should find alternatives to exercise his dogs as the off-leash dog park is clearly not the...
Read moreFirst visit to a dog park. I'm doggie-sitting my daughter's Aussie named Derby and since this is his first time to this particular dog park (as well as mine), we were both timid. He was good for the most part. There was about a total of 7 med-large dogs in the fenced-in park, all unleashed. I kept mine on the leash as he and I walked around to become familiar with the area. I unleashed him a bit later, but he was still a bit nervous and a bit overwhelmed because of the dogs wanting to run and play with him (too cute!), so he stayed close to me. It would have been a perfect play area for him, but I have a feeling that because the park is a bit small for that amount of dogs, Derby was a bit tense. I wouldn't mind going back there with Derby and I think he'd stand a chance to let go of his energy when the park is not at it's...
