I reached out to Michael on behalf of my wife who is struggling with ADHD as well as related co-morbidities. We were both looking forward to his insight and recommendations to tailor her treatment. Sadly, a number of miscommunications have very much soured our experience with Synergy Mental Wellness. First, upon receiving the intake paperwork, Michael sent us an e-mail saying that due to the combination of medications, he would not accept her as a patient. No further information or any indication which medication he was concerned about was provided. We called to ask for clarification, explained what medication had been prescribed and for what, then Michael changed his opinion and decided he could accept her as a patient and would move forward to schedule an appointment.
My wife completed further paperwork and set an appointment through the website. There is the function of adding that appointment directly to your own computer calendar which is what she did for 4PM. We then received an e-mail from Michael that he was ready for her at 1PM, she did not show up and since he made the time and effort to make the appointment he was frustrated with her no-show and decided again to refuse her as a patient. I again followed up with a call and explained the difference in appointment time on his side and my wife's side (directly from the website, see attached screenshot) and he admitted the potential mix-up on times (citing time zone selection in the appointment system) but regardless he would not move forward.
We are now back at square one and will be seeking care elsewhere. I would not recommend Michael's services at this stage, and I feel very strongly that the misunderstandings and mix-ups could have been addressed with more flexibility, forgiveness and care rather than the abrupt refusal of treatment.
NOTE: Editing to add that Michael did reach out to me to discuss and apologize. I do appreciate the follow-up and he seems like a genuine person so it is unfortunate this did not work out for us. While I will stand by my review and did not receive the level of care that I hoped for, I do hope future patients will have a better experience, as I know how difficult it can be to find qualified...
Read moreLoved having Michael as my psychiatrist for my ADHD. Appointments are super easy to setup, having an automated email of a receipt that i can easily submit for reimbursement through my insurance for out of network is amazing, and billing in general is super easy!
i had to move back to texas recently and realized how great I had it in Washington with Michael as my psychiatrist. With Michael, I would have my follow-up appointment, he'd send the prescription to my pharmacy immediately after we were done, and i'd be able to pick up in less than 2 hours!!
Right now in Texas, idk if it's bc they're more strict with ADHD medication or whatnot, but I have to wait 24-48 hours after my initial appointment (apparently this will be same timeframe for my follow up appointments) for an additional clinical doctor to sign off of my prescription on top of my primary psychiatrist BEFORE they send it into my pharmacy, and THEN it's up to my pharmacy on how fast they can fulfill, which should be less than 24 hours, but having the potential of waiting 72 hours is ridiculous here in texas...on top of urine tests every 3 months....
i definitely recommend Michael as your psychiatrist and I took it for granted of how good i had it. The remote video call/telehealth appointments were very convenient, straight to the point, and scheduling...
Read moreMichael's had life-changing impact on me. I was in desperate need of medication for debilitating ADHD and other psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, etc. would schedule me months out and then of course no-show to the appointment. Michael was easy to schedule with, actually showed up to our teleconference, and was thorough and effective in evaluating my condition and was able to prescribe me the medication I needed.
He actually understands ADHD, which is important as, flatly put, many other professionals in this field do not. Michael won't waste your time because he actually gets the condition (meaning: he will give you a friendly call if you space the appointment). His thorough understanding has been instrumental in dialing in my dosages to balance their side effects.
He's warm and understanding to chat with if you need to talk through your problems, but he won't keep you if you're in a rush and everything's OK.
You're likely here reading this review because you've identified you have a problem and you want to solve it. Schedule a call with Michael, solve it, finally move on...
