I can't believe they care more about these overly heavy and overpriced jars than having something that's easy for their customers to see and get to. I explain to him our whole situation and he continues to show me why I should never come to Wisconsin again. He says that I should have waited for him to help me and that I shouldn't touch anything because I don't have any money. But mind you I was looking at the tea at the same time as my friend who loves tea. Trying to find one that was actually worth it. But of course didn't. And he never once offered to help us at all while literally watching us around the store the entire time. So I really don't understand why he said that because we were waiting and asking questions but weren't helped at all. But then when I have to go get my emergency credit card after he threatens to call the police over $10 of tea and his $5 jar he tries to tell me that I need to calm down. Excuse me? You're the rudest and most cold old man I have ever met and can't believe my friend was about to give this loser less than $5. He was not professional. He didn't bother to once say sorry about the complete accident and the problem that I showed him with his jars. If you even twist the cap on them, they come right off. We all really feel this place likes to scam people into breaking things to buy them. Because their spices are bland and didn't blow any of us away. And I have been cooking for 20 years. After being taught by my mother and grandmother. I can't even see how they'd make that many sales with the way this place looks and works and the customer service. He didn't care that I could have gotten food or a souvenir for my little 14 year old sister and didn't care that he just started our trip off with a absolutely terrible start. My sister started bawling in the car after we were treated so horribly and didn't want to stay in this state anymore. I wish I never wasted my time and money in this dump. It doesn't matter about the money I had to pay because of these horrible jars. It matters that this man literally treated us with no respect and was the most unprofessional and childish business owner we have ever met in all of our time. I should have known though. I shouldn't have expected a smart mature human being from a man who's been smoking cigars for probably...
Read moreMe, my best friend and my little sister come into this store today and aren't even greeted or acknowledged that we're there at all. My friend asks a question about a product she's interested in and we hear "you open it and you sniff it" barely explaining how to use this unique product he has in his store. But we continue looking. Not wanting to be rude knowing a lot of the things are homemade and we shouldn't just walk in and walk right out but give the products a chance to speak for themselves. There's no other customers in the store anymore. After he just helped the first 2 young ladies that were there before us checkout. And I open one jar of tea to smell it. I wasn't impressed at all and put the cap back on and go to slide it back into the very extremely tight space it needs to go in and the glass jar literally just fell to the floor. I still had the cap in my hand. And I have never seen such a pathetic jar to hold such "valuable" items. I truly couldn't even believe the little mess in front of me. I truly am not one to be clumsy. But we came to Wisconsin (a 2+ hour long drive) with all of our money for 2 nights to experience Wisconsin for the first time and see Lake Geneva in particular. When he sees the mess all he says is "read the sign" from the other side of the store. I didn't even see the sign at first. It wasn't that bright or bold of a sign at all in my opinion. And if I had a business, I'd laugh at that little sign. I explain to him that I actually and literally have no money. We seriously don't have any money to even eat really anything since the motel we stayed at doesn't provide free breakfast like we thought they did. But this man does not care. He never showed any bit of compassion but just acted so cold and rude. He then tells me I have to pay for his incredibly over priced and heavy jar too. Along with the tea I accidentally spilled. And honestly, when you go into a business you're supposed to think about how to efficiently display things for your customers and I can't even believe the set up in that place. Also mason jars are just as big and very...
Read moreI have had the pleasure of knowing Kathleen for years now, when she rented out a small store front in another building. Her business has grown by leaps and bounds within the last couple years that her husband Jeff went from working part time at the shop to full time, and have added another set of helping hands, Larry, and moved into their current location. These three wonderful people are what make Lake Geneva, Lake Geneva. They stand behind their products one hundred percent, and are some of the most warm, friendly business owners you'll ever meet. They make their own spices, which are incredible adventurous fusions, and sell them among all sorts of other local goodies, including coffee, cigars, and sauces. They know how to cook, and give great recommendations on what foods pair well with their spices, etc. It is no wonder they have built up such a following, they offer exceptional customer service, great products, and a wonderful atmosphere. Highly recommended, the best...
