During our recent visit, we had an overall average experience that left us without a strong desire to return.
Let's start with the bar drinks. The execution left much to be desired. The margaritas lacked the perfect balance of flavors, and had the distinctive taste of a mix instead of handmade. Not what I expected in a Mexican restaurant. They were drinkable, but nothing to write home about.
Moving on to the main meals, my dining partner and I ordered two different dishes. Both were average at best. The flavors were bland and lacked the vibrant spices and authentic tastes that one would expect from a Mexican restaurant. The portion sizes were reasonable, but they failed to compensate for the lackluster quality of the food.
The service, unfortunately, did not stand out either. The waitstaff seemed disengaged and unenthusiastic about their work. Our server was slow to take our orders and seemed disinterested in providing any recommendations or assistance. The overall service lacked warmth and attentiveness, which further dampened the dining experience.
Considering our experience, we are unlikely to return to this restaurant in the future. While it did not offer a terrible dining experience, it failed to impress in any meaningful way. If you're in search of exceptional Mexican cuisine, I would recommend exploring other options in the area before settling for this average...
Read moreMy wife and I had a wonderful dining experience at Mazatlan. The food is very good and we left feeling like we got our money's worth. Our waiter was attentive and we have no complaints against any of the staff at Mazatlan. I ordered the Chili Colorado which tasted phenomenal. The pieces of beef melted in my mouth. The meal came with four flour tortillas, rice, and refried beans. You can opt for corn tortillas, pinto beans, or black beans. The plate cost $18.00. My wife ordered the vegetarian burrito which was huge. The burrito arrived stuffed with sauteed onions, mushrooms, broccoli, cauliflower, peppers, and carrots coated in a delightful sauce. It was also served with refried beans, rice, and two large dollops of sour cream. You have the option of guacamole. The plate cost $14.50. Prior to the main dishes they provided the obligatory chips and salsa with spicy salsa, non-spicy salsa, and hot refried beans. I have to say, the salsa, both types, are the best I've had from a Latin restaurant. Simply delectable. The refried beans are heavenly as well. We ordered mango lemonades which were okay. They cost $4.50/each. Overall, we highly recommend Mazatlan. The food is tasty, the service is friendly, and the prices...
Read moreMy first real experience with Mazatlan was really something. I was much younger than now. Although, i mean the only difference between then and now is i cant color the paper with crayons anymore like i used to. Also i dont get to piss off my folks by being obnoxious, and i definitively know what i ordered cause i did it on my own.... Now that you have an idea of how long ive been a return customer to this establishment, i may be able to say that I don't remember any real changes of food, waitspeople and their looks and the hospitable nature about them at all since first time I can remember. This speaks volumes of the most obvious of reasons to consider dining here. The company is Good. The meals are plentiful and I always leave with box in hand. It may not be the most modern day approach to local traditional mexican style cuisine..... But any lack of benefits is outweighed by an overall grade A restaurant to enjoy with a loved one and thats real! But don't take it from one person. I encourage you to endulge your privvy and get in to the Mazatlan near you, and enjoy a night of food and...
