My mother and I stayed overnight and were very disappointed. First off, the room we booked on bookings didn't look anything like the room we got. We went to put stuff in the fridge and there were used water bottles from the previous guest. Under the bed was disgusting. It's obvious that they don't really clean the rooms and yet they charge a $25 fee if dirty. We then left for awhile and went swimming at another hotel (where other family was staying) and when we came back we went to turn on the heater because we were freezing and wet but the heater didn't even work. It really sucked and I was almost in tears because we were already only getting 3 hours of sleep and then heading home. We didn't feel comfortable sleeping on the bed well because they don't clean their rooms really. We battled with what to do, whether it was sleeping in the car or heading back home. We then decided we should head back home 3 hours earlier then planned which caused us to get 0 hours of sleep until later the next day. I've never felt so uncomfortable to sleep somewhere in my life. It was the most frustrating thing ever so we left at 1 am back to Portland. Definitely not how we wanted to spend the night. Then to top it off when we went to fill out the little forms they have for the guests to fill out for their experience/review, they didn't even have a pen. Luckily I had one on me. It's not okay to pay $130 for a room that we were literally in for like 3 hours. I only used the shower but only because I was swimming in chlorine. Didn't even feel comfortable using the shower. I read multiple reviews after that said the sheets and pillows are stained. Of course we didn't even check because we didn't touch that bed. All I know is that we will never go back there again. Next time we're staying at the Coho which is right by them and it costs the same for much better rooms. I highly suggest that no one goes to Seagull Beach Front Motel. The only good thing that came out of it was the view but we didn't even get to enjoy that for very long. I never leave reviews but felt like I had to...
Read moreStayed in this motel on 12/04/21. The room that we got looked nothing like in the pictures advertised online and was extremely dirty. Here’s what was wrong or different:
Online the room was advertised as having ocean view. In reality it had a huge roof of a lower level wing of the motel and a deck blocking at least half of the view. Not to mention that the main window was much smaller than pictured.
the windows were very dirty obstructing already barely there view.
the room hadn’t been renovated in decades. The room under pictures in online booking looked updated (laminate floors, fresh pain on walls). Our actual room had very old and chipped paint, crooked paintings, old and very dirty vinyl.
furniture was also very different than advertised: there were no nightstands, dresser was tiny, dining table and chairs were ancient.
there was dirt everywhere. Literally a ton of dark hair was on top and inside the bedding. Obviously, nobody even changed the sheets after previous guests. Also dirt and hair were in the floor and in the bathroom. The bathroom had a few hair strands prominently stuck to white walls. It also had black mold in some spots. We did ask for the room to be cleaned, and they promised to do that, but on our return only the sheets were changed. The hair in the bathroom and on the floor remained, as well as some dark pink spillage in the fridge. Microwave had crumbs inside too.
TV didn’t work well (it was very hard to switch channels or control volume).
We were very disappointed and felt like our much needed getaway weekend was ruined.
EDIT in response to the manager’s comments: this review was written by me, Olga, who was the second guest staying at the room. You have now violated my privacy by posting publicly who I was staying with. So I guess your motel also has no respect for the...
Read moreI don't typically leave reviews but I feel like I have to here.
Let me preface and say that the view was absolutely beautiful, I often found myself getting lost staring at the ocean, even at midnight. The room we stayed in was big.
I've read other reviews that complained that it was old, I do not think that's a bad thing. It has a rustic beach feel to it, and had a wonderful electric heater in the shape of a fireplace that really pulled it together. I've also read that the beds were uncomfortable, they weren't made of memory foam but it wasn't as bad as people made it out to be. I mean, $70 for a beach front room, you sort of need to curb your expectations a bit.
Anyways, this alone would make it 5 stars for me. They even have a kitchen built in to each room with dishes, however this is where I became concerned.
The room comes with everything you need to cook and plate up a meal, which is great. We used a few cups, and they charge a fee for dirty dishes. Not a problem, however there is no dish soap in the room. I went downstairs to ask how they would like us to handle this for them, and they told us that all we need to do is rinse it out.
This scares me because I do not trust that the previous people that stayed did a good job at cleaning their dishes, I mean, why would they, especially if they weren't aware that this is how its going to be for the next people coming in and without having dish soap. Plus, Covid is rampant at the moment. I wish I knew this before I used their dishes.
Anyways, besides that, this was a great stay. Again, a BEAUTIFUL view with a large window to watch the ocean. It was pretty quiet as well, and overall the stay was pretty cozy. Just bring your own dish soap and rewash the dishes before use.
EDIT: changing my 3 star review to a 5 star review based on their...
