If I could give negative stars, I would. This was by far the WORST experience I’ve had with mole removal and skincare.
To sum it up: • Horrible customer service • Rude and unprofessional staff • Deceptive consultation • Shared treatment space with no privacy • Unauthorized photos taken • No proper aftercare or follow-up • Extremely overpriced • Terrible results — visible, permanent scarring
Do not be fooled by the positive Yelp reviews — Please save your money, your skin, and your peace of mind.
Customer service? Absolutely terrible. They don’t answer phone calls, and every single communication is done through text — even while you’re physically in the clinic. During my treatment, they sent me two texts: one with a picture of Mederma cream and another with a 1–10 list of aftercare instructions. That was it. No verbal guidance, no explanation, no follow-up.
The two receptionists are rude and unwelcoming. Sitting there gossiping about their coworkers. They didn’t greet me, didn’t smile, and showed zero professionalism.
I came in wanting to remove 6 moles — I’ve had laser mole removal done twice before with no scarring. But this clinic claimed to see “tiny sunspots” under a microscope and focused on removing those instead. The result? Visible, dark, raised scars and even a popped vein. My skin looks damaged and discolored, far worse than before. I deeply regret trusting them.
The cost starts at $490, and they make you pay upfront — before even starting the procedure. If I hadn’t already paid, I would have walked out the moment I realized I had to share a tiny room with two other men for the treatment, separated only by thin curtains. No privacy, no professionalism.
The consultation with the owner Sarang lasted 30–40 minutes and was mainly a sales pitch for other services. She didn’t spend even one minute thoroughly explaining the mole removal process I came in for. The only thing she said, was you think you don’t have a lot of spots but we use microscopes and get rid of everything, why would you get rid of things you can’t even see? The actual procedure took less than 10 minutes.
To make matters worse, they took pictures of me without my consent while I was lying down with numbing cream on my face. I had to let her know that I don’t give my consent for them to use my photos. The receptionist texted two photos to me while I was there waiting for my procedure with generic aftercare instructions — again, with no explanation or personal attention.
They’ll tell you that “touch-ups are included,” but if the job were done right the first time, you wouldn’t need one. And good luck trying to book an appointment — they’re unresponsive and unhelpful. Besides, why would I return to a place that ruined my face?
It’s been 3–4 weeks, and my skin looks 100% worse than before. I’ve been getting professional facials every other week for years, and even my trusted skincare specialist was shocked by the damage. She recommended I demand a full refund and compensation for the scarring.

Read more*EDIT December 2018 Since my last post, I've gotten two lifting sessions and one of them being the Scarlet S Laser treatment. Oh my god. The Scarlet S treatment is a game changer. Skin scars and blemishes noticeably heal and disappear faster than before. It has to do with the laser targeting the inner surface, creating more collagen and quicker regeneration of skin cells. The second lifting treatment is equivalent to skin tightening laser. They usually target your chin and V-line area and it noticeably tightens your skin upwards upon treatment - it's weird and fascinating because you notice a difference. I believe it's more noticeable for people who have excess skin on their upper neck and chin area - I do not, but the skin lift was still noticeable. I had a sore feeling for about two weeks after that treatment and the treatment is supposed to be most noticeable after about a month. Time to time treatment is recommended to continue effectiveness. I highly recommend it to the younger ladies in their 30s who are getting ready for an important day like wedding photographs for the fresher skin and slimmer facial profile - photoshop has it's limits :)
I’ve been coming to Misarang since 2015 and it’s been my one and only skin care resolution. My initial concern was acne scarring, blemish, and freckle removal and my experience was exceptional. My dark spots faded and I know that it wasn’t going to completely disappear without further care so I’ve been getting continuous laser treatment for toning and brightening. My skin glows and everyone asks what’s my Korean skin care routine :)
Late last year, I had the unfortunate experience of hormonal changes and stress surfacing as painful inflammed acne on my entire face. I started getting the laser treatment again and after about a month my face completely calmed down, I grew happier and my face naturally glows now.
It may be that my skin and the laser equipment just works really well. But the RNs, aesthecians, and staff here are amazing. They really want to know what your skin concerns are and provide the best solution and plan possible. They definitely know what they’re doing.
I’m currently a regular getting the brightening and toning treatment with regular facials and will begin the lifting treatment soon! Will post again after my experience with...
Read moreAlright so I came here because of all the 5-star reviews I saw. I was very hesitant on writing this review because I don't want to be a Karen and the estheticians that treated me were always very kind however, I am extremely disappointed by the service provided considering how expensive it was. During the initial consultation, I expressed my main reason for seeking treatment was the melasma/liver spot/sunspot on my left cheekbone. They understood and recommended me to do a laser package deal including 14 sessions of Revlite/Excel V/Noblex to at the very least, lighten the spot. I knew that my spot was not easy to remove so I accepted that it may just lessen the appearance. I was willing to do this even though it costed thousands of dollars. Over the course of several months, I commuted every 2-3 wks from OC to LA because I wanted to trust them and the process. Although, I was worried because I was not seeing any progress on the specific spot, held my tongue until the last treatment because they told me it would take multiple sessions. Now having completed the treatment and seeing the before and after photos, I am very disappointed in the results. I do appreciate the smaller pores and freckles being lightened however, my MAIN CONCERN (larger sunspot), the reason I even sought out treatment is actually worse and more noticeable than when I first came in. People around me have even pointed out how much darker it is. I understand my overall skin has brightened but even when I zoom in on the spot, the color itself has 100% darkened. expressed my concerns to the nurse Minji and she was very kind and at least tried to do an extra laser session on me on my last day. However, when I told the front office ladies, they simply told me that they recommend that I pay thousands more to get a different treatment? After I just paid a few thousand for them to make it worse didn't even offer any sort of solution to make it right?? idk like I'd rather they told me they couldn't do it if they were just gna make it worse you know. I didn't mind the freckles, I just hated the larger melasma sunspot.
Another thing to note before coming here is to take into account that they expect you to tip your esthetician each visit so don't forget to factor that cost into your...
