Great Spots for Kid-Friendly Outings in Seattle

I love coming here with family and enjoying the recreational swimming! The only part I dislike is the family locker rooms, there never seems to be enough. You almost have to time it right. So we began to start coming in our swim wear. Storing it in the cubbies, and after just driving home in our towels because the wait is just too much with exhausted kids. The price is cheap, we usually go during the weekdays in winter and spring so there is not too many people and a lot of kids around the same age, like not school age. A great place to swim, exercise and have fun not too far from home and doesn't break the bank. I don't know if maybe I go at the wrong sessions but my son hates the big bucket, i wish it could be switched off for when the small toddler children are around. To me it wouldn't be so bad if the water wasn't freezing when it tips, the water is for sure chilly and for such a young kid a little hard to get used too.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Considering the cost of $30 for myself and three children, it seemed like a reasonable price. While I would have preferred the pool to be slightly cooler, the lazy river and the green water slide were incredibly enjoyable. The family hot tub was also a pleasant surprise. Although there were quite a few people present, which made the lazy river and especially the family hot tub feel rather crowded, moving between the river, the slides, and the deeper area with the hoop helped to alleviate the sense of overcrowding. During our last visit, I observed a young child slip and fall, hitting his head. Before I could even alert a lifeguard, they were already attending to the situation, taking the child to the side and having another lifeguard assess him. It was reassuring to witness their attentiveness.

I had to buy a annual pass because I drive 60miles 1 way to this place for my toddler and the place books up way to fast for us and the skagit county YMCA just was boring.

Well, so I'm paying $1000 a year for this place now for my 2 yr old to go too and I expect if I'm paying this type of price for a pool for things to be actually OPEN . I get my daughter here, we are swimming and within 30 mins we are all told to get out and we all have to sit in the lobby for half a hour until the next session? So, I'm like ok well I'll take her to the wellness pool to keep her warm and I'll put her in the float and do my laps with her so I can exercise as well. While we wait for kid side to reopen. A older lady stops me tells me No kids. I'm like there's NO one in this pool and it says it's for fitness and people learning to swim. I like to use it for fitness because I have a injuried rotator cuff and ankle and since my toddler is 2 it helps having a warmer pool to teach her to swim and feel comfortable to float on her back. The sign should says No kids without adults. But should not punish us mothers with limited time

On top of we had to start bringing our own puddle jumper. Whoever is in charge of over seeing the life jackets for the puddle jumpers is NOT doing thier job. I was just there 2 days ago and the first 4 puddle jumpers I picked up every single one had the sleeve ripped so badly it was unsafe and all need to be repaired or replaced.

I would also like to add, during the swimming session 2 weeks ago luckly me and my husband near by. They were doing laps sessions with a coach next to us and a mother left her child alone . The life guard obviously COULD NOT HEAR the kid go under drowning splashing due to the swim meet. My husband had to pull this kid out of the water and had her coughing up water and her mom didn't return for like another 5 mins. I see it constantly , parents reading books, texting, on phones or tablets need to watching thier kids more. They should make some type of rule if you're kid is under 12 you must be with them...

Hands down best pool I have ever been to. The water slides are amazing and this pool is immaculate. There’s a river, they have life jackets for all ages, inner tubes and 3 pools. It is the cleanest pool I have ever been to and I love to swim and have tried out many pools. (Puts Mill Creek’s pool to shame). The water beach area is so wonderful and our kid loved this area when they were toddling. The pool offers times when the giant bucket doesn’t fall so the you get kids don’t have to worry about the giant bucket dumping water on them. They also have a sensory drop in time for kiddos with sensory sensitivities.

Michelle, one of the manager s at the pool, is always kind and remembers my name. She’s hard working and always wonderful to speak with. Angela, the lifeguard there, is always kind, greets me with a smile and is a dedicated lifeguard and teacher. She’s a joy to see each time I come in. I enjoy coming here, not just because they offer 3 pools (there’s a warmer temperature pool at 90 degrees), but because of the customer service. It is such a wonderful feeling to go in for a workout and be greeted with kindness and warmth at the pool and at the front desk.

Also, they have a separate hot tub for families vs adults, there’s a sauna, the facility has racketball courts and a small gym area. Parking gets tricky at times but there’s parking across the street. They also offer workout classes.

Highly recommend this gym. And if you are a member, you always gain access to rec swim, even when it’s “full”. They hold slots...

*I WOULD have given 5 stars, EXCEPT for two issues, in particular. My son, and his friend's favorite part of a Rec Swim, is the basketball hoop, and playing water basketball. However, the basketball rim is completely bent downwards, like people were slam dunking on it. Fine, but the problem IS that they have chosen to just LEAVE IT in a BUSTED, bent downwards, posistion, INSTEAD of actually FIXING it. My one other issue, actually ALSO has to do with basketball, and that is that they USED to have balls in the REC SWIM AREA, that ACTUALLY FIT INTO THE HOOP AND ACTUALLY WENT ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE NET, WITHOUT GETTING STUCK. NOW, they ONLY have these OVERLY LARGE balls that JUST BARELY make it into the hoop, but will NOT go through the net. The overly large balls have to be popped back up, and out of the net, in order just to get it UNSTUCK. IF you are VERY LUCKY, you MIGHT find MAYBE ONE ball that is a LITTLE bit smaller, but that is DEFINITELY NOWHERE NEAR being guaranteed. So, just be warned.

So, in conclusion, IF THEY WOULD SIMPLY FIX THE BASKETBALL HOOP RIM, BY BENDING IT BACK, UPWARDS, AND IF THEY WOULD GET SOME SUITABLE BALLS TO PLAY BASKETBALL WITH, ONES THAT ACTUALLY FIT INTO THE HOOP AND CAN ACTUALLY MAKE IT THROUGH THE NET, TOO, THEN, I WOULD ABSOLUTELY GIVE THEM 5 STARS.

*IF THEY FIX EITHER OF THESE (SIMPLE TO FIX) ISSUES, I WILL ABSOLUTELY, UPDATE MY REVIEW, AND CHANGE MY RATING TO 5 STARS!!!

UPDATE: THEY FIXED ALL THE ABOVE! SO HERE IS YOUR...
