I was just here this weekend. It was a weekend show. The first night was incredible. The staff were amazing. I had such an amazing time. Then the 2nd night happened. I am truly grateful for the manager on Saturday night for trying her best to help me out in an awful situation. But for the Saturday show I wasn’t even allowed in the venue. The owner would not let me in and refused to tell me why. It was raining bullets all night I had to stand outside all night with nothing to keep me warm. I was not intoxicated I had no alcohol or even smoked. The security guard at the door was awful to me. I mean he wasn’t nice, and he did try to be patient with me as I demanded an answer as to why I was being discriminated against. Until I get that answer I only will give 1 star and that’s only because the first night was amazing and had different staff. I refused to give up on getting an answer as to why I wasn’t welcome inside. I did nothing wrong. I didn’t understand at all what was happening. And the security guard got quite angry at me. I feel as though this is illegal to discriminate me for no reason. Or for whatever reason, I feel I had the right to know. I’m still not gonna give up til I get the answer I so rightly deserved. I was soaking wet in tears because of this and the big guy at the door said some awful things to me . I went through ALOT to get to that venue that day and I was treated like garbage. The owner is an awful man. The manager is so sweet though. If they had just told me why I was being discriminated against it would’ve saved a lot of blood sweat and tears literally. I’m just appalled by the behavior of some of these people and I still demand an answer. If I don’t get one when I call I will keep it 1 star. I will not be disrespected by a big “man” telling a soaking wet little girl in the cold calling me names, telling me to cry him a river, that he didn’t care, and worse. But I want a refund for my ticket that I didn’t get to use. AND I was there with the dude putting on the show who asked them to let me in and still denied me. 1 star remains as I still haven't received the reason, and I honestly should add one star simply for the amazing staff and people at the event first night. Even though the 2nd night was why I was there. This was so traumatic I haven't been back to a show since, and I been going to shows since I was 12, so...
Read moreMy recent experience at Jewel Music Venue in Manchester, NH, was so egregiously awful that I felt compelled to share my ordeal. If you're considering attending an event here, please read this first.
From the moment I arrived, it was clear that this venue is a disaster. The first issue was the security guard, who was not only unprofessional but incredibly homophobic. His behavior was disturbing and offensive, making numerous derogatory comments and creating a hostile atmosphere that made me and many other patrons feel unsafe and unwelcome. It's unacceptable that such behavior is tolerated, and it seriously ruined what was supposed to be a fun evening.
Inside, things didn’t get any better. The lack of air conditioning was unbearable. On a hot summer night, the venue felt like a sauna. The temperature was so high that many guests, including myself, started feeling ill. It was hard to enjoy the event when you’re sweating profusely and struggling to breathe in the stifling heat.
To make matters worse, the owner was an absolute nightmare. His rude and dismissive attitude towards guests was shocking. Not only did he ignore the complaints about the heat, but he also allowed his friends to attend a private event without paying. It was infuriating to see some people getting special treatment while others, who had paid for their tickets, were left to suffer.
The situation took another turn for the worse as the night progressed. The owner and the bartenders were seen taking shots and drinking heavily throughout the event. Their intoxication was evident and extremely unprofessional. The owner stumbled around, barely able to speak, while the bartenders were completely out of control. This level of drunkenness made the staff completely ineffective, and it was clear that they were too inebriated to perform their duties. Service was slow, and the overall atmosphere became chaotic and unpleasant.
The combination of a hostile security man, unbearable heat, a rude and neglectful owner, and an inebriated staff made this one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a venue. Jewel Music Venue fails on almost every front: customer service, comfort, and professionalism. I would strongly advise against attending any events here until they make serious changes. Save yourself the trouble and find a more reliable and respectful venue for your...
Read moreI’m writing this about 3-4 years after this event occurred hence why I’m not putting 1 star as I respect that changes may have been made since my incident. So I was really excited to go and see the artist Bleep Bloop when I was about 19; too young to drink. I was dancing my butt off and having a good time then I needed some water and I went over to the water cooler to get some and there were no cups. The bar was packed and there was no way to get a bartenders attention for water. There was a cup that looked like it had been used that was face down that another concert goer said I should use and proceeded to hand me the plastic cup which I filled with water from the bathroom. As soon as I was walking out of the bathroom a stocky bald fellow on the shorter side grabbed my arm extremely tight and said “what is this?!” (Turned out they were using those cups for beer) I told him there were no water cups and I found this empty one and told him to check the cup and smell my breath. He didn’t believe me which I could tell was just his ego getting in the way of assessing the situation.he was flaring his nostrils and trying to appear threatening towards me. He squeezed my arm very tight and started dragging me aggressively out the door. I’m a small skinny dude and I was fully cooperating and being polite but adamant that there was a mistake, I was trying to walk along with him as well. I’m in a tshirt covered in sweat and it’s bellow freezing outside. I ask if I can at least grab my coat inside and get my rides keys to get in a warm car with him escorting me and he preceded to tell everyone not to let me in. I was outside 40 minutes trying to get people to find my jacket and friends inside for me. I didn’t get to see the headliner and I was aggressed and thrown into the cold with the workers full knowledge I had nowhere to go.. all this for trying to find a cup of water. It was a very disheartening 6 hour ride home. Lets hope that guy doesn’t work there anymore or in the least isn’t a power tripping egomaniac that likes to bully people out of self righteousness instead of stepping back and admitting they...
