STAY AWAY: (Computer that was pristine came back filthy and dented. ) BATTERY -The big problem though is something happened to my battery. Was holding a charge for 7 hours of USE consistently. Not just 7 hours. Something catastrophic happened. Now it is draining within an hour not with heavy use. Like Word files, not gaming, etc. I am very disappointed. Clearly something happened to my battery while you all were in possession of my laptop. I am also getting battery warnings on the screen that I have never seen before. I do not use my laptop while plugged in. No where to plug and reach. Had I known I would have opted for getting a new laptop and absolutely would not have paid almost $400 for repair because now its looking like I need a new laptop. The repair was completed. It seems to have worked. But it cost me functionality. So what's the point? HINGES - I did not know it would leave hard sharp flaps of metal handing bent out by hinges. Like really sharp hazardous. So I regret doing the repair at all. One step forward, 2 steps back. Hinges fixed but battery shot and sharp edges hanging out. I can't use a laptop without reasonable battery time. Deeply regret and should have just gotten a new laptop which its looking like I will need to do that anyway despite repair. So it was almost $400 for no gain that could otherwise have gone towards a new one. ADD: just found out that the UBS port is smashed and not usable.
See photos. Computer that charged all night. Showed battery at 100%. Computer used for 1 minute and battery dropped to 93%. At 8:01 am battery at 100%. at 8:02am after use battery down to 93% in one minute. From 8:02 am to 8:41 am used for a couple minutes and then shut lid computer asleep battery went down to 82%. In the end that's about 3-4 minutes of actual use battery went from 100% to 82%. Prior to repair battery held for 7 hours of use.
THEY "FIXED" *ONE THING BUT CAUSED SO MUCH...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI brought in my laptop for cleaning/diagnostic because it started to overheat and have difficulty in shutting down.
I was told it might take up to a week.
When the week came to end & I hadn't heard anything, I called and spoke to Zack who told me that I was told two weeks. I corrected him & told him, "No, I was told a week.".
Zack got hung up on this point and told me it noted on the bottom of my receipt. I explained to him that I was verbally told a week.
Keep in mind nothing had been done at this point!!!!!! NOTHING. My laptop sat for a full week with them doing NOTHING and Zack wanted to lecture me about the time frame in which I was told.
Zack said he would get it started, but might not finish the for the day.
The ticket was open in which Zack wrote a note stating the customer was told it would take 1-2 weeks. Thus, he lied!
Several days later, still nothing. I called and was told that Zach was still working on it???????
Finally, I get a call back from Zack saying he hasn't been able to improve the speed on my computer???? and their was little ram left. He wanted to add ram or factory reset.
I keep all my data on a separate hard drive that I want to keep, so I was okay with a factory reset. I also explained what the issue was with my laptop.
Zack called me back while I was at work and left me a voicemail stating my computer was deemed unrepairable and he couldn't install windows!!!!!!
I am not a tech, so I called him the next day to find out was going on. Zach said, I already told you.
No offense, but that is such an dink answer. I explained to him that he didn't explain it & reminded him that I am not a tech.
I finally had to ask for a manager to explain it to me.
P.s.
When I picked up my laptop, the person who checked my computer was helping someone with their PlayStation and told them what they told me that it will probably...

Have a protection plan with Verizon business account. Battery on one of our phones has lasting like 2 hrs. and not fully charging. Verizon setup a time for a same day replacement at 430-5pm on a Friday.
Arrived at 430 to be told my appointment was for 3-330pm and I would need to come back the next day at 1pm during a big snowstorm to then wait around 3-4 hrs. for the repair.
Left the shop only to get in my car and look at the email from Verizon about the appointment which was in fact for 430-5pm. Went back inside to show the guy this email and he then looked a little flustered and said well we don't have time today anyway, umm okay I have an appointment. But he then said the next best thing he could do was order a replacement to come to me on the following Monday. I actually liked this option better anyway so I was cool with it.
While he sat there on his computer for a good ten minutes he finally told me he was having issues connecting to Verizon and he would have to manually order it and keep me posted. I left and went home but never heard from him.
The next day on Saturday I called and spoke to someone else who said it had in fact been ordered and set to arrive Monday.
Today, Monday, the phone never arrived and when I went into Verizon portal was unable to find any order. I then spent the next 30 minutes dealing with the Verizon staff explaining the issues to three different people to only find out they never placed an order for a replacement.
Mind you I pay 60 bucks a month to have full coverage and same day service as our phones are vital to our business. Not happy at all with either Verizon...
