I am absolutely disgusted with the lack of customer service at this establishment. I am livid that I was misled and drove 50 miles at 8am to find out my warranty was not valid like I had been told, and the product would not be replaced as was discussed and agreed upon on the phone. Twice.
PROs - My Sound System is finished and I no longer have to deal with this company. (I'm actually quite sad to have to write this bad review.) CONs - I experienced one or more incompetent/misleading salesmen and a complete lack of customer service/empathy.
I recently finished my second car's sound system with Sound Sensations. This particular job included a new head unit, four speakers, two sub woofers + custom woofer box, two amps, all the wiring required, and finally - I purchased the lifetime warranty. The woofer box I ended up with was coated with truck bed liner and custom made to fit behind the back seat of my Jeep TJ. Upon purchasing this box, I explained that the interior of my Jeep would not be exposed to significant amounts of water - nor any water for an extended amount of time (if it gets wet - I'll quickly dry it off), but that I wanted a box that would not only withstand some water but would also effectively protect my woofers from any damage. I was assured the box I was subsequently sold was the box for me. Fast forward - several weeks ago, when my woofer started to sound wonky, I unzipped my Soft top to find that every edge of my woofer box was split; the box was no longer sealed which caused the awful sound quality and could lead to damaged subs. I immediately called Sound Solutions to find out if the box was still under warranty and if so - to schedule an appointment to have it replaced. It WAS under warranty - as I began to schedule my appointment, I realized I was booked up for a few weeks and postponed scheduling an appointment. I called back a couple of weeks later, made sure again that my box was under warranty and scheduled a 9am appointment to have the box replaced. My appointment was yesterday morning. I drove to the location early to make sure that (though I had an appointment) I was served first thing - i have had issues with this before. I told the salesman I was here for an appointment. He looked up my appointment and seemed to have no information. I explained the issue with my woofer box. After waiting ONE HOUR (PAST MY SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT) for him to find my purchase of the box in the first place - I was told my box was out of warranty and that I wouldn't get a new box unless I purchased a new one. I explained that I had called ahead (twice) to make sure my box was still in warranty before scheduling an appointment and was told (TWICE) that it was. I was then told that whoever I spoke with (two different calls - two different days - two different salesmen) was probably looking at the most recent installation which was still under warranty (duh, I bought a lifetime warranty on the installation.) Though this was THEIR MISTAKE, they refused to do anything to compensate me for my time and trouble other than 'try to glue the edges together' or sell me the same box for the same purchase price. I woke up early on my day off and drove 50 miles in my 0 miles to the gallon Jeep Wrangler to be met with zero customer appreciation/service. I am completely and utterly disgusted. Had I been informed that my equipment was out of warranty OVER THE PHONE before I made an appointment and drove to Marietta - it would have been a bummer, but I probably would have ended up buying a new box from Sound Sensations. Unfortunately the unhelpful, unapologetic, incompetent sales people I had the misfortune of dealing with have lost a life-time customer for their company. I have always suggested my friends go out of the way to get their work done through sound sensations - a few have already gone there - but after this experience, that...
Read moreI visited their shop a couple of times a few years ago. I live in Florence, SC so it takes me roughly 4 1/2 hours to get there. I was looking to do a custom system in my then '09 Chevy Colorado. I have always been into high quality sound for years. Since I had driven a '01 WS6 Trans Am that I had built into a novice IASCA SQ competition car for about 4 years, my ears were tuned to that type of system. Factory systems no longer satisfied my ears. I researched and found Mark, the owner, at Sound Sensations. I read about his Mercedes his shop built for an earlier Pioneer Soundoff. His car placed 2nd. I knew they could provide me the sound my ears were looking for. I visited the first time, talked to Mark. He was gracious enough to take time.out of his busy schedule to show me his car which was still almost setup with the same system it placed in the Pioneer Soundoff with. I was highly interested in the Pioneer Stage 4 components. I had been and still am a big Pioneer fan. Mark listened to my talking on what I wanted to do in my truck. I also told him I had already purchased an older Pioneer Premier Reference component speaker set and which ones. He advised me that he actually preferred the tone of those over the Stage 4 and that with that same set his car had won a previous competition. All I needed to do was add the Stage 4 two and 5/8" midrange drivers to them to complete that part. He also advised going with the 10" JL Audio W6 over the Stage 4 10" sub and using JL Audio XD V2 amps instead of the Pioneer Stage 4's. Upon his recommendations, I purchased the Stage 4 mid drivers, the Pioneer Stage 4 headunit and a JL Audio XD 400.4. The Stage 4 headunit, DEX-P99RS actually replaced the headunit/dsp set up I had in my Trans Am, DEX-P9/DEQ-P9, which I still had but wasnt going to use in the truck. Even though I bought those items from Mark and we discussed what would he done in the truck, I never was able to go back to have that vehicle done. I did go back.to discuss using that same equipment in my next vehicle which would have made for a much easier installation and given the exact sound replication I was after. I never was able to have that car done either. None of that was Mark.or anyone in his shop's fault. My timeline and finances never allowed me to make that type of trip and have my only vehicle down for the length of time that would have been required for either install. My experience with Mark and his employees left a lasting impression on me. One that if I were in the matket.to do a system in my current vehicle, I would not hesitate to go to his shop. He isnt one.of these types who gets you in the store just to give you sales pitches and tries to make you buy as much as he can and stuff you dont need. He finds out what you want to do and leads you into the direction he feels is best for you. He considers the equipment, the price, the install and time needed for everything. He want.push you into going over your budjet. He recommends products and installations that fit the budjet you are happy to live with. I know this has been long, and I apologize. All I can say about Mark is you can trust him and his employees to get you where you want to be with you vehicle. Plain and simple. I never got to say this in person, but THANK YOU Mark, for taking time to advise me that 2 times. It means alot that there are still shop owners that still treat people the way you do. Owners like you are very few and far...
Read moreSound Sensations was sensational! But to be honest I will never let anyone else touch my car other than these guys, they are meticulous when it comes to detail. I had the pleasure of hanging out with them this past Thursday while they fixed my car, I had a radio previously installed and had a few issues with the install and had to get my radio working correctly. I hung out with the guys at Sound Sensations and learned so many things -- we talked about the latest developments in car audio, camera, home audio, sports, etc. I literally felt like a kid in a candy store; also they did not mind my countless questions with a smile and really made me feel comfortable during my wait. On top of the excellent work that they did on my car their customer service is A-1, they are some of the friendliest people you could ever meet, in any line of business. Now discussing the workmanship, I was so impressed when I got my car back I barely recognized it. On top of that, they do not complete the work and toss you your keys and push you out the door, they make sure everything is perfect, the fact that they actually come out to the car to go over every install and detail sets them WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY above the rest. They seriously care about your satisfaction. And I personally want to give my sales associate a personal shoutout! Evan really is awesome! If you ever get the pleasure of having him as your associate he will having you laughing all day! I was there for hours but he checked up on me every chance he could and made sure I was well taken of it and up to date on every detail concerning my car. He really made me feel at ease. And what was really surprising is that the owner came up to me and introduced himself! That really impressed me, I saw a guy walking around asking how everything was going and checking on things but in my mind I thought he was a manager of some sorts; but when I found out he was the owner I was really impressed. Especially knowing that they have been in business for over 40 years! He really loves what he does and really makes sure that everything is done right! If you ever visit their website you can see that they deal with a wide range of clients with VERY expensive cars, boats, etc. And from inside the venue where they are located you can also see they are very well known from a long list of high profile celebrities.BUT THEY TREAT EVERYONE WITH THE SAME LEVEL OF RESPECT. It does matter if you are well known or just some stranger that walked in by chance. I can comfortably give my business to people that stands behind their work in that manner. Guys you did an impeccable job! Keep up the awesome work! It is really a delight to have people of your professionalism and courtesy working and loving what y'all do. It creates customers for life.
Sincerely,
A...
