Pricing was okay, $20 for kid, $5 per adult. Disappointed the train ride was another $5 per person to ride. We bought one decent sized pumpkin which was $15. It wasn't a bad selection of pumpkins, but it's very small section, which we didn't mind. The jump houses and slides were fun for our daughter, entertaining. Cute spots to take a few family photos. I had an issue though with the petting zoo. There was absolutely no supervision, children were free to come and go and treat the animals in any way they pleased. The water was SO DIRTY, and their buckets completely empty of food. I know they did have hanging nets of hay. But those animals were PETRIFIED of the children beside a few that hung out under the table chilling, otherwise they huddled together breathing hard. And the sweet horse my daughter rode, Tinkerbell, she just seemed sad but I am no expert about horses and how they act. The worker was very sweet though who handled the horse. I am in no way accusing anything of this place, but the petting zoo absolutely needs supervision from an adult worker at all times monitoring children.

Storybook Pumpkin patch is okay, but not great. At $5 for adults and $15 for 12 and under, it isn't too pricey. The proceeds go to charity, which is nice. Couple of downsides. First, the area with the petting zoo is pretty small, and the staff doesn't seem to regulate how many children are inside. The result is a lot of scared animals, hiding in the corner or trying to run as unsupervised children chase them around. It's a cool idea, but poor execution. The second thing is that it isn't much of a pumpkin patch in the traditional sense. They have large cardboard boxes of pumpkins, shipped in from elsewhere, but no pumpkins growing here to pick from. There's basically no shade or cover, so once you're done looking around a bit, you won't have much to do. They do include a pony ride, which is a huge plus, but expect a long wait, even if it isn't crowded. Overall, there is fun to be had here if you aren't able to travel to a better pumpkin patch, but I wouldn't recommend it, and don't think I would return.

My wife and I had our venue here, and absolutely loved it. We did a Victoria/steam punk theme that looked great with the rustic/old West town they have in the back of the property. Out guests had a wonderful time, and the staff worked hard to make sure everything was great. There were a couple of hiccups with external vendors and communication, but that didn't fall under Storybook Ranches purview. I should have had someone not participating in the wedding who could run corral on all the moving pieces. Should have had a wedding coordinator! Cameron was great and very thorough during the whole planning process. I definitely recommend anyone wanting a gorgeous wedding to go here! Price was more than competitive too! They are a charity that does amazing things! Can't say enough good things about the venue and it's staff!

Edit: It has been brought to my attention that a man named Richard Bacon has posted a review on here that is very hateful and not true. He was the +1 at my wedding with the woman (and personal friend) who baked and decorated our cake. He was sitting in his parked car next to the wagon ride route and throwing cigarette butts out of the window in the middle of where we were go i g to be doing pictures and celebrating later that day. Cameron, the venue coordinator, attempted to have him move his car and not throw cigarettes in the middle of the venue and was met with attitude and vulgarity not befitting a grown adult. He needs a walker due to an injured foot, and used this as an excuse to become belligerent and nasty. He was given opportunity to go inside of the opry house to sit and not be in everyone's way. He continued to curse at Cameron and continue his behavior which caused him to be asked to leave. Our cake decorator was welcome to stay and did so to enjoy an amazing evening with us. The fact that Richard Bacon took the time to lie about his experience with Storybook Ranch and tarnish their reputation is personally insulting since he was supposed to be my guest there. I did not find this out until after the fact, or I would have escorted him off site myself. I refuse to let him publicly lie and degrade an establishment that made my wife and I's day so amazing. Please do not listen to him or his hate filled review. My personal apologies to Storybook Ranch and Cameron for having this man enter thier property under my invitation and cause such a childish and...

We took the kids to the Stroybook Ranch in McKinney off Custer to get some pumpkins and to ride the Haunted Hay Ride. We decided to get tickets first to the hay ride and was told they were $15.00 per person no matter the age so $60.00 later we waiting for over 30 minutes for the ride to start. We notice there was no real adult supervision (well if you count the kids who were barely out of their 20s as adults). We were all seated finally at about 40 minutes of waiting. Then we are taken on the back of trailer (oh did i mention there was no hay) pulled by a truck! The guy who was the guide was actually pretty entertaining. The rest of it was a bunch of kids dressed up in costumes and jumping out at us which wasn't so bad since it scared the kids sufficiently but when we got to one part of the ride and going through the old town - we were greeted by saloon girls (not ghouls) just girls - who started asking which men were ready to come in and then at the top of the saloon another saloon girl said she had just finished off someone (wiping the corner of her mouth) and asked who was next. I think the oldest child on the ride was 10yrs old. Not very family friendly. The ride was over in less than 30 minutes. It has great potential but just not run very well. Too much trust in the younger employees. After the ride the pumpkin patch was close so we had to go to Market Street to get pumpkins who had a...

I will never go to this place. We called and emailed to book a pony ride for my daughter and her friends. No one called us back for 3 days. When they called they gave us 3 different times that they had available for that day. We called back 1/2 later no one answered (they did say they were going to leave early that day) so we left a message with the date and the time that we wanted to book and for them to call us back for payment and sent an email with the date and time we wanted to book. The next day they were closed so when they called my husband back the following morning they said sorry we are booked for the whole day now??? Now how is that possible since they closed early on Monday and Tuesday they were closed? How did they book all of the times when they were closed and we had called right after she called us with the available times and left a message and sent an email? We had already made plans for my daughters birthday and had to scramble to find another location. I am happy to say that we found a better location than Storybrook and will never go here or plan any event here. The staff is rude and don't care or take the time to do customer service. In my opinion customers are what keep you in business and if this is how you and your staff treat people then you should no longer be...
