These guys are famous! I met people from Alaska who came here on a week visit mostly just to meet the Country Nomads and get some lessons with them.
We are lucky to have them in Arizona and I tell everyone that wants to really start learning how to dance to start going to nomads studio!
These guys and gals are seriously wonderful. If you want to really learn how to country dance and feel a little overwhelmed by all of the options, styles, different lessons, and just feel stuck, these guys will get you "un-stuck". They have the best beginner lessons I've ever been to and then their intermediate lessons build on the beginner moves.
I especially like how they focus on footwork and connection and teach you how to communicate to your follow. I'm not great at it yet but my friends I always dance with have already noticed a lot of improvement and I really have only been going to nomads studio for about a week.
Gabe is a wonderful funny and helpful instructor. Joel will help you fine tune and improve things. The ladies Ivette and Bergandy are super friendly and very good at giving tips and instructions also to improve your dancing. Other Gabe is also great and has helped me a lot.
Even better, they are super friendly out dancing and will dance with you and help you improve while out at Denim & Diamonds, Dave & Busters, Whiskey Row, CB Live etc. They have all always been super friendly to me and are great ambassadors for the Country Dance community.
I haven't gotten to the point of doing their workshops, bootcamps, or the many competitions but hopefully that is down the road.
Thanks guys for giving me the opportunity to really learn how country swing- I'm not one of those people who can just watch other people and just pick it up so I am so glad to be able have a Country Nomads subscription and all the help they give.
I HIGHLY recommend this place!
OH, I almost forgot, they are adding in Line Dancing instructions. Can't wait to learn to improve that with Bergandy! There really aren't great options for learning up-to-date line dances so this will be wonderful for all of us that need a little help to really get some of the complicated line dances that...

Beginner Bootcamps are a great way to learn Country Swing. As someone without a dance background, starting with the Bootcamp was the way to go. It is a well paced, well structured dive into the fundamentals, where each class builds on the last. At the end of the bootcamp you may get things you'd only ever get in a private lesson -- connection drills, musicality practice, nuances to smooth things out. There's also some fun games that will help you ingrain what you've been learning.
Drop-in lessons are good too -- just know they can cover quite a bit of ground. General class pattern seems to be: Quick Intro, Footwork for leads and follows, the basic three steps, then you learn a few patterns and maybe a combo. You'll start with a break down of the movement, practice the skills, then integrate it into the three step, then do it all with music.
It's fun, well thought out, instructors are great, and the price is very reasonable (the monthly membership is where it's at 🤠).

Read moreI've been going to the Wednesday or Friday Country Swing beginner group classes for a couple of months now. I love that you do not have to have a partner to show up. They will also rotate through partners. This really helps improve your dancing and your patience.
Each instructor teaches using the same model but brings their own style. The takeaway is different with each instructor. They also have a male and female instructor for each group class So you get to watch the lead or the follow and get pointers from each.
I am in my 50s and have no dance experience but already feel confident going out and dancing to the point that I am enjoying it and not overthinking it. If you've ever even considered that you want to learn a new style of dance I recommend you try this place. My guess is that you will be...
