I absolutely love Gay Dolphin, and go there every time I go to Myrtle Beach. But when I was in the Jewelry section the lady who rung me up was so rude and unfriendly! She was too busy talking to another employee and not paying any attention to what she was doing. The line got stacked because she wouldn't quit yapping to her coworker. She didn't make any eye contact with me let alone say a single word to my face as she rung me up. As if I'm not even there. She overcharged me $16.32!!!! I was the one who noticed it and was absolutely livid! When we told her about it she justified it tried saying that it was the scanner being too sensitive. No, she just wasn't paying any attention. Not to mention she didn't even apologize to me. I almost went off on her, but luckily the Jesus in me stepped in and kept me calm. I Hope to see major improvements on how the staff members act when I walk in here next time, and this doesn't happen ever again. Lastly, big thanks to the Jewelry manager that stepped in and fixed...
Read moreI always stop in to the Gay Dolphin when I go to the beach because I love the little trinkets and things they have there. But I don’t know if I want to go back after my recent experience there. I was looking at the dragon statues and noticed a large one was marked at $12.998. I’m sure this was a mistake and they probably meant to market at $129.98 however, that wasn’t the price that was listed because it had not only one sticker, but it had 2 stickers marked at the exact same price. I had a family member bring it to the managers attention, and wanted to know if they would honor the listed price since it was their mistake, and it was marked incorrectly, but instead of honoring the price that they had listed on the statue, not once, but twice, instead they said no and provided no further explanation as to why they wouldn’t honor it, and even laughed in my family member for even asking. I found this extremely rude, and I will be very reluctant to go back...
Read moreBeach junk store galore! This shop is conveniently located right on the boardwalk and near the beach. I came in for a browse upon recommendation from a friend, I had no idea this place was as big as it is!
I did spot a sign in the window that they allow dogs inside, which is always cool to see since we area always traveling with our furry friends.
A large portion of the store focuses on souvenirs. This is the perfect place to pick up knick knacks with "Myrtle Beach" imprinted on them. They also carry an abundance of home decor that is beach or nautical themed.
I did see a pretty decent assortment of t-shirts and other clothing items, even some footwear.
They do have items at all different price points. I grabbed a Myrtle Beach sticker for a buck and a mini license plate for my friend's kids.
