As a skin care fanatic…there are TOOOOO many good facial places in the Green Hills area alone to go here. If you want to waste time and $312 (incl tip) on subpar results and bleeding lips go here.
Honestly in my 10+ years of getting facials once a month (all around the world too) the $260 facial I had at Elan was by far the WORST one I’ve ever in my life gotten. I was in and out in 35 minutes…that included intake paperwork and a few minutes of waiting and payment AND I added dermaplaning to my facial. The Diamond Glow itself is supposed to be 30 minutes so the time just did not add up.
I understand that things can be done quicker by a skilled esthetician (which I don’t think was the case based on my results) and other people have different methods as well but this is everything that was different about this facial compared to the standard I'm used to.
There was no alcohol/thorough cleansing done before dermaplaning.
There were so many harsh and DOWNWARDS motions while applying things with her hands.
She used the microdermabrasian tip with a clarifying serum on my LIPS! I’ve never had that done before anywhere else and was interested in the result…however that just caused my lips to be dry and cracked. They bled pretty much everyday for 2 weeks and maybe it would have been worth it if it revealed brand-new skin for my lips. However they're basically the same as before. Just slightly more chapped all the time now.
The lady wasn't all that friendly either and I'm not sure she actually listened to what I was saying. I said that my main concern was hydration based on a skin analysis I had done a month prior in Korea and I also said that I would like manual extractions done and for her to go in hard. She instead said the machine would do that and she would use a clarifying serum (instead of a hydrating one). And the manual extractions were light.
My overall result ~2 weeks out is lackluster too. Nearly every facial has made at least minisculely noticeable improvement to my skin and I think with this facial it looks the same if not slightly worse in some areas.
I still tipped 20% as I always do regardless of quality of service and I was hopeful that the result would be good based on the reviews but now after going through the aftermath — ESPECIALLY with my lips bleeding for 14 days — I realize now that it was a waste. A waste of $312. A waste of 35 minutes of my life. And a waste for a time slot for another facial I could have gotten elsewhere that would have yielded better results and likely...
Read moreUPDATE: Thank you Elan for responding to my review and reaching out directly to make the situation right. I’m sorry I didn’t speak with you initially when I called after my service, but I’m glad we were able to connect in the end. I’m updating my star rating from 2 to 4 stars. Thank you again.
First time microneedling, last time client. First, everyone was incredibly nice, truly 5 stars, and the spa is warm and inviting. This was my first time microneedling and I knew to expect a low level of discomfort. But what I actually experienced was an extremely HIGH level of pain that left my eyes red and face swollen until the next day. Long story short, the numbing cream needed to set on my face longer before the needling began (but keep in mind there’s no way for the esthetician to know this until after he/she starts microneedling on your face). Friends, the pain was so bad, and completely unnecessary. A few days later, I called and spoke to a manager about it, and asked if the esthetician could have stopped, applied more numbing cream and give it some time to kick in. AND THIS IS WHY I WON’T RETURN- the manager’s response was ‘…no because that would make the service longer’. It was beyond disheartening to hear those words from the manager today; I’m still in disbelief. ELAN has made it clear that your comfort is NOT...
Read moreI had a recent experience with laser hair removal at Elan with Rajni that left me quite disappointed, upset, and burned. Over the past four years of undergoing laser hair removal treatments, I had never encountered any burns. However, my experience at Elan raised some concerns regarding their standards and procedures. It was particularly disheartening to discover that one of the areas on my body, which shouldn't have been treated due to its higher melanin content, got burned during the procedure. Even during my initial visit, I had inquired about protective measures like coverings, but to my surprise, there were none in place. In hindsight, this should have been a warning sign for me right from the start. Additionally, I want to caution others about a potential issues regarding their pricing policy. Rajni offered a promotion where if you pay for five sessions, the next one will be free. It's advisable to have this agreement in writing or to record the conversation, as she might change her mind later. In conclusion, I recommend seeking out a facility with more rigorous medical training and practices to ensure the safety and satisfaction of customers. Laser hair removal should always be carried out with precision and care by trained...
