Ok … here’s the real skinny on “Taste of NY” :
Order the pie, “extra crispy” and don’t go over 3 toppings. Follow these simple directions … and here’s what you’ll experience ….
Dough : thin and not too doughy … and close to “Lucali” fluffy. ( look up the David Portnoy Lucali review ). Lucali sets the bar as far as I’m concerned, and these guys … are a 9.25 … if Lucali is a 10. Sauce : they’ve nailed this … and the only ask … 1/4 fl/oz more. The sauce has that perfect blend of oregano and thyme, with the caramelized flavor of the tomatoes … which gives it that true Sicilian PUNCH!!! Cheese : it’s a bit salty, so I recommend asking for a light portion of ricotta … believe me, you’ll thank me for this.
I ordered an 18” thin crust pie with sausage, garlic, artichokes and ricotta … and I had them cut it into 4 slices so I could fold it. The pie came out piping hot ( like, melt your face off hot ), so it travelled to my house perfectly. When I got home, I ate the first piece in 20 seconds flat. I washed it down with an ice cold can of Coke ( because Pepsi sucks ).
The assault on my taste buds was as EPIC as watching Daenerys Targaryen‘a dragons cook her adversaries … and I immediately submitted to more torture!!! The pie … continued to deliver with consistency, and it left me feeling like Neal Armstrong when he took a giant leap for Mankind … completely satisfied, and glad there are real professionals coming up with the recipe for success!!!
I finished the pie with 3 Oreos … and now … I can’t move.
Order this pie … because after eating it you’ll be content, because you found another reason to live.
Thank you for bringing REAL PIE to NASHVILLE.

Read moreI recently checked out NY Style Pizza in downtown Nashville, and I have to say, it was a fantastic experience. The moment I walked in, the place had that classic, no-frills New York pizzeria vibe. It was busy, but the staff kept things moving efficiently without making anyone feel rushed.Let’s talk about the pizza: it was spot on. The crust had that perfect thinness with a slight char on the edges—crispy yet chewy, just the way it should be. I went for a simple pepperoni slice, and it did not disappoint. The sauce had a nice balance of tang and sweetness, and the cheese was gooey, stringy, and generously applied. The pepperoni had that slightly spicy kick, curled up nicely, and provided the perfect salty complement to the whole slice. One thing I really appreciated was the attention to the basics. They didn’t try to overcomplicate things; the flavors were balanced and straightforward, letting the quality of the ingredients shine through. It’s the kind of pizza where you don’t mind a little grease on your hands because it’s part of the experience. The space itself is cozy with a few tables inside, and there’s some outdoor seating if you want to enjoy your pizza in the open air. Prices are reasonable, especially considering the quality, and they offer a solid range of toppings if you want to customize your pie.If you’re in Nashville and craving an authentic slice of New York, this is definitely the spot to hit. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, NY Style Pizza delivers a genuine taste of New York in the heart of downtown Nashville. It’s well...
Read moreUPDATE: Tried this spot again tonight. Ordered a large pie with pepperoni, sausage and ricotta. Man Im glad I gave this place another shot! This time it was amazing. Seems like they're working out the kinks. Perfect crust thickness, sauce and toppings ratio and the guy even asked me if I liked the bake before boxing it. I topped it with some Mike's hot honey when I got home. Holy cow it was so good ! I went full piggy and ate 3 slices hahah I loved it !!! I would also add the guys working there are top class. Really friendly and great customer service.
Disclamer I'm from the NY/NJ area so I had certain expectations. I ordered a large pie midday and they were fairly busy so I was pleasently surprised that my order was ready in 15 min. My first observation was that it was undercooked and the pie was just too thin. Hopefully these are opening week jitters and they'll get it figured out. Next time Ill definitely ask for well done. Next thing I noticed was the cheese blend- A bit too much on the pie (weird I know) and It's missing something... I needed to add salt which I never do. I'm looking forward to trying them again in a few months to see how they do.
Garlic Knots are delicious! Calamari is good although I'm not a fan of their Marinara, low on flavor high on the acidic scale.
Chicken parm is big enough for two to share. Chicken was fried well. The cheese is definitely a high point it's...
