This is a great theater! AMC is always my go-to when I’m watching a movie because the recliner seats are comfortable and as a popcorn addict I appreciate the refillable giant bucket they have. AMC always had amazing ice, I know it’s a weird thing to comment on but it’s true, and their salt and butter stations near the soda machines are awesome so I don’t feel silently judged asking the salesperson for even MORE butter every time x) This theater has great seats, theaters one through three are on the second floor which is where I saw Avatar: The Way of the Water and it’s nice because there’s a separate soda machine on that level too so you don’t have to go downstairs to the entrance if you want a refill, instead there’s another machine right outside the theater. I ended up sitting all the way in the back since it was a booked theater but I still could see every thing perfectly clear so it was a great experience. The second Avatar movie was actually pretty good. It was 3 hours long which was longer than I thought it necessarily had to be, the characters themselves at one point seemed to be overwhelmed by all the plot points, however as a sequel it really did it’s job of entrancing it’s audience with the world of Pandora. I was really pleasantly surprised by the quality of the movie and would recommend fans of the original to see it!

This may be one of my favorite AMC locations in the city. I don't much care for the one at 42nd Street. Kips Bay is nice. I really like the staff at 34th Street but in the evenings it gets really busy. This one was busy but you'll just love those extra big red recliners they are the best and nobody is sitting too close to you they're not bumping you in the aisles because guess what, there's enough room between the end of your reclined seat and the next row of seats that they don't have any reason to be stepping over you. This isn't so in the beautiful huge IMAX stadium seating at Lincoln Center. I love the decor in this location and while the refreshment stand was pretty busy and the way it's arranged you're going to get bumped into by other patrons but they're better staffed than Magic Johnson so the line isn't unreasonably long.

AMC on 84th Street has been a diamond in the rough for more than a decade and it’s age is part of the reason I’ve held back on the 5th star. Long before the likes of Alamo Draft House upgrading a night out at the movies to Premier Class there was AMC on 84th. A smaller floor plan (fewer screens than Times Square) makes room for seat selection. AND the reclining leather seats that fold out to an almost flat-bed are larger than those you see on premium upper class airlines today. If you have a weekday off I suggest you try the matinee where crowds are slim during the most recent uptick in COVID. With a sprinkling of movie-goers there was room to move if I didn’t feel comfortable close to other people. Still, I noticed masks worn while not eating popcorn or drinking a Diet Coke. Great spot for date night too.

Let's begin with the telling of a short story. I went on a first date here. To see the platoon.😊I know I can be sensitive at times. And so, I watched the entire movie without my glasses. Just so, I didn't display raw emotions. My brother would get upset over that especially, around other boys,... Nevertheless, the entire movie was a giant green blurr. However, we were together for 2 1/2 years. Last night I wore my glasses and could not hold back the tears when she said. " you are slow like a sloth " that character was so, official to me. Her and sisters like her are very familiar to me. " The woman king" gave me renewed connection. I am glad I watched this movie at this particular theater. I would recommend for anyone to go there for their next movie experience.💜

The only movie theater I go to in the area! They have the lay down seats! Pro tip: save money by seeing any movie before 4 pm
