El Gallo Taqueria — Restaurant in New York

My problem is not with the food, but with the service.

Me and my family placed an order over the phone, granted it was a big order, but I did confirm with whoever I was speaking with on the phone multiple times about everything that we ordered.

The order not only took over an hour to be ready, we did not place a delivery order, we placed a carryout order since we live a few blocks away.

When we got the order, there were several items missing, and one order was completely wrong. My order was the fajita dish, I only received the chicken. I did not receive the rice, the beans, Or the side salad that I had paid extra for, we also ordered a steak burrito and we got chicken instead.

I called them up immediately to explain the situation, and I was met with a trainee, who had no idea how to handle the situation. There was no manager on site, and the lady that I had spoken to on the phone prior had left already. I don’t blame the trainee, he handled the situation as best as he could, but it was all completely disorganized. The trainee informed me that they would fix the order and have it sent out to me, I called back after 10mins to ask for an update and I was met with the lady I had originally spoken to.

The trainee had called her to come on the phone and I heard in the background her refusing to come to the phone and handle the situation, I had informed them that I do I fact understand Spanish and understood what they said. Their resolution to the problem was the manager giving me a call, and let’s see if he even does that.

I definitely will not be ordering for delivery or carry out at this establishment again. And quite frankly, I think I will look at other taco spots in the area. The food is good, but it is definitely not worth the headache.

I also believe that the food is way Overpriced, and to not even receive my order correct is just completely...

Literally the worst service I have ever seen. Ordered when there is no one else in the restaurant. Sat there quietly and patiently for 20 minutes. After that 20 minutes, they finally give me the bag…with the wrong food in it. When I go back inside and tell them it’s not my order, they immediately say no, it is what I ordered. (It wasn’t even close. Like, not even a single correct item. I got 2 burritos, and they handed me a single order of tacos). When I then show them the receipt, the guy not only doesn’t apologize, but gets frustrated with me and says that I messed up the food they gave me because the tacos were now messy and that now they have to remake them. So he’s mad at me. For taking the bag. That they handed to me. Because they told me it was my food. But it wasn’t my food. And they are upset they have to remake it now…because they gave that wrong food to the wrong person. Got no apology for messing up, no apology for taking that long, just complaints to me about having to remake the food they messed up. Truly some next level awful service. Never...
