ADA dismissive; untrained staff; Extremely poor leadership. I'm assuming the arrogant guy is the owner or manager.
We visited for brunch. I have a service dog, who is clearly marked as "service dog" ( and I keep all his records with us at all times ).
I first asked IF there was space for Myself, my brother and my service dog. Host said there was, and I asked for a booth.
As soon as we all walked in, (We will call him Arrogant Al) He started aggressively barking orders at me about how I "better" keep my dog out of sight.
I kindly and calmly said to him, "He is a service dog--" , and before I could even finish my sentence to offer to show his records and ask if there was a seat he preferred us at.... the jerk yelled at me "SO WHAT?!" And "I don't care."
-_-. First of all, check yourself because I do not OWE you patronage nor the explanation I was willing to provide for YOUR peace of mind (since I understand there are those who abuses this status for their pets). ADA legal standards are abundantly clear.
I firmly told him, " You WILL abide by ADA regulations, or you WILL have a real problem. "
From there he 100% dismissed when I tried to get our servers attention; he sent him somewhere else --right after looking at me trying to get the servers attention.
Trying to pay was even more ridiculous. The server took my card and tossed it on the host stand, which is right by the entrance/exit. We watched 4 whole minutes pass before they ever noticed the card.
When they wanted me to come to the stand, Arrogant Al had his head so far up his butt, that he couldn't even look me in the eye while saying the host needed me. Which was also ridiculous on the host's part.
I grabbed my cane and went to the stand. The door was so overwhelming crowded myself, my brother nor my service dog could even get through. If the fire Marshall saw this mess, this place would have been fined.
I sent my brother my service dog outside while the two hosts fought with their card machine. They refused to listen that credit cards don't have pins like debit cards. They wouldn't listen that they were using the machine wrong and pushing the wrong button. Then they lied saying they only tried my card once -_- I got the call from my bank asking if it was attempted fraud because they kept swipping so many times. The second host couldn't figure out to put the chip IN the machine when she didn't see the tap icon. It was bad enough they were grossly overcharging me (meal was 15, but I was charged 23) - I didn't even fight them on that since I had evidence and the bank would handle it. I just wanted to get out of this mess of a place.
It was insane. And the entire time Arrogant Al is standing there in all his mediocrity, not helping his staff at all.
I do have to note that myself and only two other persons of color were in the diner. I noticed Arrogant Al greeted literally everyone, even the rowdy teens, with a smile and handshake, but when each poc gentlemen (one Black, the other Asian), walked in ( at two different times )....he dismissed them in a VERY similar way that he dismissed me.
Hey Al....its 2025. Don't let your BS get your business shut down. You owe it to your staff and the community to be a real man, and to leave miscreant behavior in the privacy of your home.
If it weren't for the fact my sugar had become dangerously low, I wouldn't have given this jerk a dime after the initial interaction with him. The food was below avg, but health first.
BTW, Darling ( my service dog ), was 100% perfectly behaved the ENTIRE time (as he should be). He stayed right my by side while I tried to quickly eat. When my sugar spiked juuust a bit from the French toast, he alerted me (booping my leg with his nose) , then laid back down once I signaled that I was okay.
Not a whine, yawn, bark, or even a beg ( because he knows better, and understands he's working ). But he did not "stay out of sight"! He stayed right beside me, where he is supposed to be at all times, on the ready in case of a crisis.
HIGHLY suggest skipping this...
Read moreI was seated quickly. A busy boy dashed by and placed a glass of water. More than 10 minutes later and no waitress. An older man came in and was pointed to a booth. I watched as he, clad in biking wear, disrobed by two tops and placed his bags across from himself. As he sat down, a waitress greeted him cheerily and inquired if he wanted "his usual". At this point, I think the gentleman saw the look on my masked face. I, STILL, had no waitress. So, about 12 minutes (and his plates and drinks arrived) later, a waitress took my order (house tea, matzo ball soup, and a side of corned beef hash). When the tea arrived it was Lipton. Confused, I asked the waitress about the "House blend". She, too, was confused and brought a menu. Only to be surprised by the item listed as "House blend", she informed me that "Lipton" was it. So, what was regular tea? I ate my soup (oily) and waited for my corned beef hash. When it arrived, it was crisped, CANNED (mushy in the center, under the crust) and moderately warm. I tried it with ketchup, salt and pepper (all on the side, using a dipped fork), nothing helped. Meanwhile, the gentleman received a refill on his tea and had his meal choice confirmed that he wanted nothing more. Again, he looked over to me (now maskless) and I'm sure read my look. Eventually, I put my jacket and mask on, picked up my bags and went to the counter. The hostess asked a waiter for my check and he, in turn, called to my waitress. The hostess bore this scene quite well and kept her pleasant demeanor. Poor service influences the food negatively. Writing this six hours later and the food...
Read moremy friends and i went here today to grab some brunch, and immediately thought the place was super cute. although they were extremely busy (almost every single table was full), we only waited about five minutes before getting seated. we waited about seven minutes before our order was taken, but our waitress was extremely nice. the table was a bit small, but for the three of us, we made it work. however, my friends and i waited about 45 minutes before getting our food (for context, one of us got a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich, and the two of us got a stack of pancakes with fruit. we also ordered a side of eggs and bacon to share, along with a side of fries). our waitress did not communicate with us regarding the food, which was disappointing in itself. there were a few tables that came in after us that did get food before us. once we got the food, it was pretty good. the pancakes were good, along with the eggs and bacon. as for my friend's bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich: she had this mysterious green spots on half of her bread. it did not look like mold, but we were unsure of what it was so she ate around it. the french fries were delicious though!! overall, this diner is extremely cute and very friendly. however, i will say that when they are busy, expect to wait a decent amount of time...
