I prefer US Supermarket in Elmhurst because they have a much wider variety of items and fresher quality of meat, due to a higher number of customers buying out stock daily.
This supermarket has extremely rude cashiers. It is an Asian supermarket so I am not expecting any hint of customer service but this shop takes the cake in making your visit an unpleasant one. Like them, I just want to minimize contact, get my items, pay and leave because it is so unpleasant to visit this store. So many broken tiles and chained off corridors because the place is literally falling apart and they are forced to renovate.
Just two examples from just 'one' visit, I asked for 4 pounds of grounded pork while raising 4 fingers and pointing to the item I want. The old Chinese guy with earrings put in only 1 pound and started acting highly annoyed when I corrected him. You would think they would at least make an effort learning 1 to 5 in English or learning to intrepret 4 fingers correctly but nope, it is your fault for them making a mistake because they could not care less about you.
At checkout, we rang up a total of $90+ worth of goods and when it was time to bag, instead of helping us at all (I didnt expect them to) the cashier started to claim some items I already had in my bag which were bought from another store, were stolen. They carried the same brands for bcd tofu soup kit and 1 pack of samyang noodles but they didnt have the hot flavor for the soup kit nor the pink flavor for the samyang noodles which is why we bought from the other store, US Supermarket.
They were fussing over $6 of what they thought were supposedly stolen even though we rang up over $90+ of groceries from their store. We got held up and when they checked they found that they didnt even have those flavors or items. The expiration dates of their items were totally different too. All for $6 they thought were stolen from the total of $90 we rang up at their store.
They made a mistake and did not even apologize or look us in the eye. The Cashier even had the gall to ask for my ID to pay with my credit card. Again, I am not even expecting any form of customer service. Heck, I even expect rudeness since it is a common theme here but this place is just too much. It was a weekday during noon and they are trying to go out of their way to make everything miserable. Can't imagine how worse it would be on the weekend. No wonder one other reviewer said they shop here not by choice but of necessity. We came because we had to stop by Queens Mall. Hope your rudeness over $6 of supposed stolen goods which you didnt even sell was worth this review. If you must buy from this store, avoid Lane 4 old short cashier lady. Gives Chinese and...

October 29, 2023, Evening Shift, Counter No. 2
Subject: Condemnation of Discrimination Against LGBTQ+ Individuals
I am writing to express my deep concern and disappointment regarding the reported acts of discrimination against members of the LGBTQ+ community within your organization/area of influence. Discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other characteristic is unacceptable and goes against the principles of equality, diversity, and human decency.
It has come to my attention that individuals within your organization/community have been subjecting members of the LGBTQ+ community to unfair treatment, exclusion, and outright harassment. Such actions are not only unethical but also illegal under various federal and state laws that protect individuals from discrimination.
I urge you to take immediate steps to investigate these allegations and to implement policies that will ensure a safe and inclusive environment for everyone, irrespective of their sexual orientation or gender identity. Failure to address this issue promptly and effectively will reflect poorly on your organization and could lead to legal ramifications.
It is the collective responsibility of every individual and organization to foster a society where everyone is treated with respect and dignity. Discrimination has no place in a just and fair community, and it is disheartening to learn that such acts are still prevalent in today's world.
I kindly request your prompt attention to this serious matter and look forward to hearing about the steps you plan to take to rectify...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI come here every week, sometimes several times a week. It has a wide variety of Asian groceries (dry goods, sauces, produce, meats, seafood) and some American as well. Frozen section has hot pot goodies. It has some pretty specific stuff, and sometimes doesnāt have the simple items youāre looking for. It has a parking lot.
If I could go to a different grocery store, I would, though.. The employees working here can be quite rude. And the customers are pushy and rude š„² The quality of food and hygiene can be pretty terrible⦠Iām honestly not sure how itās acceptable. some examples: lots of things like fruits and meats go bad quickly⦠I have no idea how long they keep lots of their food in stock. For example, I just bought a bag of carrots that were extremely slimy. I thought target was bad! You have to know what to get and what not to get here. Meats can smell bad quickly. I purchased moldly garlic here before. I always check for mold now. the ginger was smelling weird a week-ish ago. I noticed it was wet and starting to go bad. Then I realized the ceiling was missing a tile and browning around the missing tile, and it was dripping liquid from the ceiling on top of the ginger (which is not covered) 𤮠Seriously yāall, check for spoilage! Another pro-tip - always ask for a little less than what you actually need at the meat section. If I ask for 1 lb, they give me 1.5lb every time. Theyāre getting...
