A Downward Spiral in Service Quality
I recently visited Kimberly Spa, a place I've frequented for five years, but my recent experiences there have left much to be desired, pushing me to reconsider my patronage. During my last appointment, I opted for an hour-long massage and a cupping session, which was priced at $55 for the massage and an additional $20 for cupping. Unfortunately, the visit was marred by several unsettling incidents that have become a pattern at this establishment.
The masseuse, Cici, exhibited highly unprofessional behavior right from the start by pressuring me into elective services without clear communication about their costs. This lack of transparency was followed by her disengagement during the session; she spent considerable time texting, with her phone audibly vibrating beside my ear, which was incredibly distracting and detracted from the relaxing atmosphere you expect in such settings.
Moreover, the service itself was below par. Cici’s attempt at cleaning my ears involved merely tickling them with a feather and blowing compressed air, which felt odd and unnecessary. More disturbingly, there were several instances where her touch uncomfortably grazed my private areas, adding to an overall feeling of discomfort rather than relaxation.
The cupping session was equally disappointing. It was hastily done, focusing only on the back and completely neglecting the front of my body, contrary to previous experiences which were more thorough. The treatment room itself was in a deplorable state, strewn with the masseuse's used socks and other signs of poor hygiene that one simply cannot overlook.
Upon concluding the session, the financial aspects were just as frustrating. I was unexpectedly upcharged $125 more and coerced into tipping beyond what I felt was reasonable, amidst the audible snickers of other staff members. This pressure to tip, regardless of the service quality, has been consistent over my last few visits.
Previously, I overlooked certain mishaps like an unfortunate incident where a masseuse farted near my face during a session, hoping these were isolated cases. However, these recurring issues highlight a stark decline in the quality and professionalism at Kimberly Spa. It seems the spa has become desperate, losing the essence of customer care and service.
Given these experiences, I cannot justify returning to Kimberly Spa. For those looking for a serene and respectful spa experience, it appears there are numerous other venues that would better respect their clientele and maintain higher standards of service and...
Read moreSLIGHTLY DISAPPOINTED. I chose this place because it has great reviews, but unfortunately my experience was not as great as I expected. My masseuse spent almost half of the massage on her phone. She kept the phone on the massage table to respond to messages with one hand while massaging me with another. At one point she had the nerve to place the phone nearly next to my ear which kept on vibrating. When she moved it to the left side of my head I got so annoyed that I just placed my hand on top of her phone so that she would know that I knew what was going on. She then moved the phone to another side of the room and every now and then kept stopping the massage to check the dam phone. If that wasn’t enough, she started to talk to her colleague next door which just put me on my last nerve. She had great massage skills, but because she was so distracted she missed my whole upper leg and I had to ask her to please massage that area. Also, due to her need to be on her phone she spent most of her time on my back and hardly had any time for the front. Total disaster in which I almost got up from the table midway when I think she finally realized I was getting annoyed and started to do a better job. I literally left stressed considering I was super relaxed when I arrived. The only reason I’m giving a 3 stars is because my son had a great masseuse and the person on the room on my left seemed to have a very professional masseuse too as I could hear her constantly asking questions. The place is also very clean and the...
Read moreThis business keeps coming up in my feed for a review so I will leave one. My boyfriend and I used to love this place but we had a pretty bad experience with 2 of their therapists during a couples massage almost a year ago. They were two women who didn't realize that I can understand mandarin. They spent the ENTIRE massage time talking to eachother and made really rude comments about our bodies. The owner was really upset at them when I explained why I didn't want to give a tip and he didnt charge us for the massages. I'm sure he had a stern talking to the therapists that worked on us and it was a long time ago - this is the only reason why I'm giving 3 stars and not 1. I hope that these women at least learned a lesson about professionalism if they weren't fired. It was a mortifying experience trying to explain why we didn't want to give a tip in front of a packed room - with some of the other therapists snickering when I had to explain this to the owner outloud in front of them (which is even more disconcerting because it seems they also didn't take this seriously). Again, this was a very long time ago and I hope that things have changed. Their massages were genuinely great in general, so it's a shame that these ladies ruined this...
