Since it’s been more than a month since I moved to the Silver Towers apt (North Tower), I’d like to share my experience.
In short, I love living here a lot and would recommend it to anyone who likes city living, clean environment and appreciate professional and kind people as I do.
Leasing Office Team: I had a great experience with Grace. She has been so supportive, responsive and understanding to my needs and situation. I started my apt hunting a bit earlier than what I believe people usually do, but she was very kind and helped me to clear all of my concerns.
Concierge Team: They have been very friendly and kind even during the time of apt hunting. I visited 7 other apt bldgs in Hell's Kitchen area but the concierge team in these buildings are by far the most professional. Even during the apt hunting process (and before move-in), they are very courteous. Everyone there greets friendly and nicely every time I go out and come back home, making me feel welcome. Package pickup is also smooth.
Maintenance Team: I needed the maintenance team's support a few times and they came to my apt soon after I made a request. They are very polite and professional as well.
Tenant Billing Team/Property Management Team: Given the size of this apartment complex, there's a dedicated team for each different inquiry, which initially caused a bit of stress for me (as I only had to speak to one person in my previous apartment). I was concerned about whether we could communicate smoothly, but they responded promptly and effectively in the end.
Amenity Area (Gym): It is clean and have my favorite Italian equipment brand (Technogym) which I am very happy about. The swimming pool water is clean and warm enough to swim even during winter time. It is accessible from both towers. I sew some review complaining about the rate but it is just so nice to be able to get to the gym for quick work out after work or weekend morning before going out. I even do a 15-min quick swim, and I wouldn’t do that if the gym were outside and a 15-min walk away.
Amenity Area (study/work area): I have not studies or worked there so I do not know how it'd like but they appear bright and clean.
Noise: I live in North tower (between 10-20 levels), which is said to be more noisy compared to South. Yes, I hear car horns day and night. For some people who prefers quiet living, it could be noisy but for me not at all. It is more like white noises to me, I can relax and sleep very well.
Interior: They are not brand new but well-maintained. The ceiling is relatively high and with the white wall and big windows, it feels quite spacious even for a studio.
Storage Space: It has sufficient storage spaces in all areas, bathroom, kitchen, entrance, closet. My favorites are one in bathroom and kitchen. Both are well-built and easy to organize many items.
Appliances: Everything work well. The A/C makes some cracking noises when in "heat" mode, which could be a little bit annoying but I do not keep heater on so long (as it gets warm very quickly) so it is not a big problem.
Others: For the past 6 weeks (from Feb to Mar), I had insects in my place for three times; flies 2 times, a small lady bug 1 time. My friend who lives in 40-50 level South Tower never had this experience so this might be either North Tower thing or level of apt you are in. I purchased some ultrasonic pest repellers, under door seal, and air vent covers and hoping that it'll work.
Location: It is close to Metro stations, bus stations and Ferry terminal. The entrance and exit of Lincoln tunnel is also very close so very convenient for me as I have a car and need to travel to NJ often for work.
Parking: You need to make a contract with a parking company separately but the parking under the bldg has an access to the apt bldg which is very convenient and I like it as it feels very safe when coming back at late night.
Overall I feel very lucky and grateful to live in such...
Read moreIf you are Asian, especially single Asian female, think about it before you choose to live here.
I’ve been living in this building for over three years now, and the majority of the front desk staff have always been friendly and approachable. They may not always remember my exact name or apartment number, but they recognize me and treat me with respect. However, there is one staff member names Din* who has consistently displayed a poor attitude towards me.
On one occasion, I returned from walking my dog and was picking up a package. He insisted that I show my ID, which was completely out of the ordinary as all other front desk staff only ask for a signature. I explained that I am a resident here, and I even offered my photo ID and lease agreement as proof, but he refused and insisted I go upstairs to retrieve my ID. I complained to the building manager Jenel**, and her response was that he was just following protocol, and that it wasn’t personal.
But the situation became even more concerning when I observed how differently he treats residents of other races, particularly white residents. He engages in small talk with them and goes out of his way to be friendly, even asking about their families. I’m an Asian female and my friend who is also Asian was treaded the same way but she never complained to the management.
Most recently, on Christmas Day, my friend came to pick up a package I had left downstairs. This same staff member made things difficult for my friend, even though they were just trying to pick up something on my behalf. When I came downstairs in slippers, I was immediately asked for my ID. I once again explained that I live here and offered my photo ID from my phone. He claimed that the photo didn’t match the one in the system, even though I’ve been living here for almost four years. I told him that was a system error, and he seemed incredulous that I was challenging him. I began recording the exchange, asking him to repeat his statement, but he hesitated and refused to say it again. Eventually, another front desk staff member came to assist, and the situation was diffused, but it was clear that the original staff member was trying to assert power by making things difficult for me.
It’s frustrating to feel like I’m being targeted, especially when I’ve heard similar complaints from other female Asian residents about his rude behavior. I’ve also asked in the building’s Asian resident group, and others have shared that they’ve had similar negative experiences. It’s become evident that this staff member only seems to target Asian female residents, never showing the same behavior to white residents or even Asian male residents.
While I’m considering filing another complaint, I’m aware that it might only result in the same dismissive response from management. Without concrete proof, they may never acknowledge the discrimination happening. This ongoing behavior is not only disappointing but also concerning for anyone who wants to feel safe and respected in their own home.
I hope this review encourages the building management to take this issue seriously, as this type of treatment has no place in a community. I don't want to blame someone for being a racist or sexist, but after all these, it really makes me concern if Im living in a sexually and racially discriminative community.
Two questions: 1. How does every other staff never ask for my ID to get my package except him? Why does he never do this to any white residents but Asian people? I’ve lived here for almost four years, is not-recognizing every resident still a reasonable...

Be aware everything is extra money - not a huge deal or unexpected in New York but still keywords: nickel and dime
The pool is unusable because of the hours and nothing is convenient
If you use public transportation it is a small nightmare to try and get across from the subway located just a few short blocks away was a really like a mile - through the sea of tourists and unruly individuals
The constant protests in front of the embassy at the end of the block are lovely
The constant car accidents at the entrance to the Lincoln Tunnel where I've seen personally for people get hit crossing the street is a real added bonus, its a Real Life drama to cross the streets.
The construction across the street that completely destroyed my view that I was guaranteed wouldn't when I signed my lease and this consistent noise from traffic as well as construction that I could hear on the penthouse floor was lovely - just the calming relaxed experience we wanted
The bathrooms look great but there is no place to store anything
The kitchens look beautiful- trying to cook and is as bad as my first studio part when I had no money
The neighbors are great you'll get to know them very well due to the thinwall and the fact you can smell everything - the mosh pit-marijuana people that party at all hours of the night were absolutely the exact neighbors I was looking for and I never actually physically met them but I know so much about them- I could hear every word they were saying
Oh and then con Edison making myself and all the other tenants responsible in writing for the buildings entire debt because the building didn't pay their electric bills on time- was just an added bonus (obviously the building paid the bill once they were embarrassed in question by all the tenant)
Since we moved from the building in June it's amazing how much lower the cost of been for transportation to the next get somewhere without having to rely on my own car (parking the building is an extra $700 ish) or taxicabs add a few thousand dollars a year.
I paid quite a premium to live in a building- and it was a very negative experience for us.
If you're a high net worth individual most people need to be to live in that building - in my personal opinion I would spend my money elsewhere and did ..
the building isn't all negative there were several bright spots such as building staff is wonderful and very accommodating.
Building is kept clean, and would be perfect for a corporate apartment or is a limited part time use.
And the building is mostly safe, some of the pets can get unruly.
Our personal experience from attempting to actually live in the building was not great - and based on the premium I was paying to live in it it was downright horrible for us, overpriced for pretty but useless to live-in apartment in our opinion.
In any of the positive reviews I've been reading - I don't think those people actually live there... Looks like some PR digital marketing agency add them
my husband and I, are well-known individuals, subsequently we have chosen to keep our identities concealed -but felt compelled to have someone write an honest review of the...
