The Best Car Dealership in NYC area—An Exceptional Experience
I’ve visited three different Volvo dealerships in the tri-state area, and after checking out Volvo Cars Manhattan, I can honestly say this place stands out. I came here because I learned it’s the flagship Volvo dealership in the U.S., and I was curious to see what set it apart. I wasn’t just looking for a good deal—I wanted great service, transparency, and a straightforward process.
From the moment I stepped inside, I could tell this dealership has all the bells and whistles of a prestigious business, yet there’s nothing pretentious about it—a rare and difficult balance to strike. The staff made me feel at ease right away. Daniela, the receptionist, greeted me with a smile and connected me with Justin Hack, a sales rep who instantly made me feel comfortable and confident about the whole process.
Service with Integrity
Justin was everything you want in a car salesperson—knowledgeable, helpful, and professional. He took the time to listen to what I wanted and didn’t try to push anything on me. Plus, Amir, the sales manager, was fantastic too. He worked with me to ensure the deal was exactly what I was looking for, and there was no pressure or run-around. It was a genuine, straightforward experience that made me feel like I was treated with respect at every step.
A Trade-In That Was Worth It
I wasn’t initially planning on trading in my old car—I figured I’d sell it privately and get a better price. But after doing some research, I realized the hassle wasn’t worth it. Ivo, the trade-in manager, gave me a solid offer that made the decision easy. I was pleasantly surprised at how fair and transparent the process was.
Smooth and Efficient Paperwork
Once we agreed on everything, I met Moustafa, the finance manager, to go over the paperwork. He was patient, clear, and even helped me get a solid deal on some additional coverage for the car. Even with the add-ons, I still walked away with a better deal than any other dealership in the area had offered. What really stood out was the level of personalized service I received at every point—something that’s hard to find at any dealership. Let’s be honest—car dealerships are usually slimy and grimy. Not here.
Picking Up the Car—Tech Help from Eric
After the paperwork was all wrapped up, I met Eric, the tech guy, who helped me set up my car. He walked me through all the features, connected my phone, and made sure I was comfortable with everything before I drove off. It’s clear the dealership values the customer experience all the way to the final handoff.
Final Thoughts—This is The Volvo Dealership to Visit
By the time I left, I joked that I might want to work here—it really was that great. If you’re looking for a Volvo dealership that offers top-notch service, fair pricing, and a no-pressure, seamless experience, Volvo Cars Manhattan is the place. They’ve truly mastered the art of being prestigious without the pretension, which is something most struggle to do.
**04/12/2025 5 Stars – Outstanding Service, Even Through a Tough Situation
Even though I’ve been having ongoing trouble with my Volvo, the service I receive at Volvo of Manhattan—especially from Glenn Bourke and Anna Rosario—has been nothing short of exceptional. Glenn, my service advisor, is truly top-notch. He’s consistently professional, communicative, and always treats me with courtesy and respect. No matter how frustrating the issue with the car may be, Glenn goes out of his way to make the process as smooth and stress-free as possible.
Anna Rosario, at the service desk, is equally impressive. She’s warm, welcoming, and efficient—always ready to help with a great attitude. Both Glenn and Anna go above and beyond in every interaction, and it’s clear they genuinely care about their customers.
It makes a world of difference to be treated with this level of care and professionalism, and I sincerely hope their efforts are recognized by their leadership. They’re a big reason I continue to bring my...
Read moreMy wife purchased a slightly used XC 90 in November of 2024 from this dealership. The car was shipped to our house in Vermont.
The salesperson, Justin, ensured us there were no issues with the car and it was like new. The car is fine mechanically, but upon delivery, the car had several small scratches that were not disclosed, along with severe scratches on 2 of the 4 rims. None of this was disclosed. When we questioned Justin about this, he said 'oh it must have been missed'. I'm not sure how those things are missed when a car is fully detailed.....
So, they sent us some touch up paint, and were supposed to reimburse us for the rim repair-$315 at our local Volvo dealership (mind you the onus is on us to take the rims to the dealership, not on the people who sold us this car and did not disclose this). It took several weeks/months for us to get the paint, a key fob cover (which was also missing and not disclosed), and to date 5/9/25 approximately 6 months later, we are yet to receive the check for the rims. My wife was dealing with Jason, and several times he said he would take care of the issues and never did anything productive until I got involved (sexist anyone?) He lied to my wife several times that he would send the above mentioned checks, paint, and key fob cover. The dealership also over charged us for the sales tax, and that also took several months to get that reimbursement.
I began speaking with Amir, a manager, after we realized Jason was completely incompetent and could not follow through with anything that he said. I spoke with Amir on 3/4. Amir assured me he would resolve the remaining issues-reimbursement for rims and overpayment of sales tax. We received the sales tax reimbursement in mid-March, but not the rim reimbursement. I spoke with Amir on 3/24 and we assumed that check was lost in the mail and he would FedEx the check for the rims....As of May 9th I still do not have my reimbursement for the rims.
I called today and asked that Amir call me by the close of business, and I got nothing back. I would really rather not leave this review, I would have much rather had the dealership make a good faith effort to do what they said they were going to and follow through with their promises in anything close to a timely manner.
We honestly do not really care that the car had some minor scratches and damaged rims. If these had been disclosed prior to purchase this would have been a completely different situation. What we do care about is the fact that these were not disclosed prior to purchase, and they have failed several times to make good on their promises to remedy the situation and have essentially lied to us on multiple occasions.
We will be filing a complaint with the NY State Attorney General's office in regard to consumer fraud.
Based on our experience, I would find a different Volvo dealership to take your business to..........
5/22/25 Update. After getting Nelson the General Manager involved, this whole thing is now resolved-only took 6...
Read moreThis was by far the worst car buying experience I’ve ever had. My husband and I found the exact certified pre owned Volvo SUV at the Volvo cars of Manhattan dealership so we decided to make the drive from out of state to come take a look. I reached out to the dealership ahead of time to schedule an appointment and Eric called me back to discuss. I told him we drove this model already and know this is the one we want, I told him we have about a 2-3 hour drive and I’m 6 months pregnant so I asked him if we could do as much ahead of the scheduled appointment as possible to make the buying process as quick and easy as we could.
We arrived at the dealership for our appointment and after waiting for Eric for ~30 minutes he finally came over to tell us that he is having the car sent over. We weren’t sure why it wasn’t at the dealership as I confirmed with him that we were on our way. In the end, the car took an hour and forty five minutes to finally be at the dealership. The whole time we were just standing in the show room and Eric kept telling us it would be 10-15 more minutes. The whole point of us scheduling the appointment was for the car to be available at the time of our appointment, especially when I was in close communication with him that morning confirming our appointment and confirming we were on our way.
Finally we drove the car and immediately said we’d move forward with the purchase. We had all of our documents ready and instead of going to an office with Eric to continue on with the paperwork we were told we had to come back in an hour to sign. At that time it was 1:30pm. We got back to the dealership at 2:30pm to sign the documents. After waiting for Eric for quite some time he finally told us that our paperwork would be ready soon. We waited and waited and finally at 4pm we were finally able to sit down to sign the paperwork. At 4pm we were already at the dealership for nearly 7 hours. It took us about 45 minutes to finalize the paperwork and get the keys to our car. We were completely exhausted and had a 2-3 hour drive ahead of us so we had to leave immediately and did not have any more time to wait for Eric to show us the features of the car. So we left the dealership without him going over any of the features of the car or helping us connect our phones or set up our settings.
Never once did we sit in an office with Eric or have any resemblance of decent service. He lied to us all day about timing and drug us along without a care in the world. I made sure Eric knew I am very pregnant ahead of time so we could get the deal done as soon as possible but instead he was unorganized, disrespectful, dishonest and completely disregarded us and our time. I cannot believe how awful this experience was and how terrible Eric treated us. We have been to Lexus, Acura, Audi and have had such better experiences that I will never purchase a Volvo again. His level of service shouldn’t represent a brand like...
