Caffe Vento Espresso & Boba — Restaurant in New York

oh my god this was the most traumatizing cafe experience. went in on sunday morning I believe, and first of all the 'barista' was asleep. He was snoring like crazy. We had to wake him up. I should have left at this point but I usually really like the lattes here.

Next, we ordered and he kept making strange noises and movements - I'm 100% sure he was stoned out of his mind. As he started making the drink I realized I did not want it anymore based on his behaviour, but I thought I'd stick it out because I felt bad so I figured I'd just throw it out after I got it. However, he then went to pour it into a take out coffee cup and his fingers went right into the latte. He saw that I saw this and I said "I'm okay I don't want it" and his response was "It's ok I didn't make it anyways" (?? what does that mean? was this an old drink..?).

It was really shady. I've never ever been to a cafe in the city where the BARISTA was the one who was definitely on drugs, asleep and it definitely felt...

Unfortunately, what appeared to look like a cute little neighborhood coffee shop, turned out to be a sour taste in my mouth. Visited mid afternoon, cafe was empty and the barista looked disengaged and super stoned which was pretty unwelcoming. Nonetheless, we ordered a cappuccino and tea, both items were made in less than a minute which I questioned, but this was validated upon the first sip. Ingredients tasted (milk) bad and overall quality lacked (drink wasn’t steaming let alone warm to enjoy). Lastly, found it super weird that he offered us some (free mini cup) leftover cold hot chocolate from previous pour; when I asked if it’s supposed to be cold, he replied by saying “no, I didn’t want to waste any” which was odd. Anyways, tossed our drinks the corner right outside...

I’m really glad I finally found a spot where they make and serve coffee in a true Italian style. I’ve been there 3-4 times since they opened, and tried something else every time, and every single time everything was authentic, and the staff seem to really have great knowledge about the product they are offering. We are spoiled in Europe when it comes to coffee about its quality, but with Caffe Vento I don’t need to worry about that anymore. I highly recommend it. Great job guys and I’ll...
