Pier 96 was a blast. The kayaking was very fun and very budget friendly activity to do since it is FREE. Monday-Friday the free public kayaking opens at 5:30 pm so I would definitely recommend you check it out. Only downside is if there is a line you are only out there for 20 minutes give or take. Staff were extremely friendly and even if it’s your first time kayaking they will walk you through it.

Monday-Friday the free public kayaking opens at 5:30 pm so I would definitely recommend you check it out. Only downside is if there is a line you are only out there for 20 minutes give or take. Staff were extremely friendly and even if it’s your first time kayaking they will walk you through it.

I had a blast kayaking on the Hudson with my chosen family. And the best part is it's FREE! Manhattan Community Boathouse is a nonprofit organization that provides free kayaking on a first-come, first-served basis during the summer and early fall season. However, all of their programming is funded by donations. My friends and I make sure to donate whenever we go kayaking. Feel free to donate if you get the opportunity to partake in kayaking on the Hudson. Free kayaking in the city is always a blast especially with great company. Be prepared to get soaked in water! Lockers are provided with locks to store your items.Kayaking for two are available also kayaks for single riders. Staff is very friendly and want you to be safe and have fun.
