I said yes to the dress today somewhat unexpectedly and I HIGHLY recommend RK Bridal!! I’m not getting married until January 3rd, 2026, so I wasn’t going to start shopping until the late summer/fall…however, I had been obsessing over one particular Morilee dress that was an older style from 2022 that is basically on its way out. After contacting every single bridal shop on Long Island and in the city, RK Bridal in Manhattan was the ONLY one who carried the dress. It also happened to be the last one, in the color I wanted, and my size, so I decided we had to go this weekend just to try it. RK is retiring for good in June and only taking orders until the end of May. Most dresses are on sale BIG time and many you can just buy off the rack. Well, I didn’t love it once I put it on. It made me look like a box. I’m super short and it cut me off at the waist, gave me no torso (and I already lack a torso), and just swallowed me. This is where my consultant worked her magic!
OLGA!! Olga was my consultant and she has been with them for years now. She took one look at the gown on me and said she knew exactly what to pull. She said she had the perfect dress in mind, but was worried it might be gone because it was discontinued. She searched and finally found it. She came back with the most stunning, sparkly gown I’ve ever seen. It’s a Maggie Sottero (one of my favorite designers) and it was the last one, in my size, in the color I like, and really can’t be found anywhere anymore. She said she took inspiration from the design of the beading that I liked on the original gown and how it dripped down and faded down the dress, but this one was in a silhouette that was better suited for my body. The beading almost form lace-like paisley prints and the glitter is spectacular. My one condition was there HAD to be glitter.
Olga is fantastic. She let me try on others just to be sure. She didn’t rush me, try to kick me out, give me a time limit or a limited number of dresses. She let my mom and me walk around the store with her and discuss things we loved and disliked and pull dresses that caught our eye. Ultimately, she was right. She pulled THE perfect dress immediately. Olga is the sweetest woman. She is so patient, kind, and clearly passionate about her job. She is an older woman from Greece and will be returning to visit her family over the summer after RK closes and when I asked her what was next for her, she said, “If I get sick of my husband, I will see where else I can work and do what I love.”
If any of you have the chance to get to RK before the end of May (if you plan on ordering) or before middle of June when they close, run don’t walk and ask for Olga if you can. I never thought I would fall in love with a dress this easily. Mom and I had the best day today. It was just so much fun and full of happy tears. Posting pics/videos of my dress and will include one of Olga showing my mom how the dress bustles in the back and her asking me the big question just because she deserves some extra recognition. ...
Read moreI found my dream dress at RK Bridal yesterday! RK was my third bridal store and it was an amazing experience. I'm a size 14 in bridal, so there have been dresses where I felt absolutely horrible in at each appointment. I felt truly beautiful in the dresses at RK. My mom, brother, and mother-in-law were greeted at the front desk very warmly and Hannah greeted us quickly. I did a TON of digging on their website and on my own beforehand, so I brought a bunch of photos of dresses that I loved. There was also a dress to beat from my morning appointment at BHLDN. I showed the dress that I fell in love with at BHLDN to Hannah and she completely understood why I fell in love with it. I showed her a total of 11 dresses that I wanted to try, but she started with 5 to see what would look good on me/what I would like.
There were definitely some that were obviously not the ones, but Hannah was so honest and encouraging. I felt like she really knew me and she really wanted to help me find my dream dress. I tried on the first batch of 5 and didn't totally love any, but there was one dress that I saw in the salon and knew I had to try on. I asked Hannah if she could pull it for me and she said definitely! She actually let me know it was from a trunk show and they were about to send the samples back that same night. It truly felt like fate. I put the dress on and immediately felt stunning. My family loved it as well, but I was a bit unsure because it was a completely different style from the BHLDN one and honestly, a different vibe from everything else I had tried. Compared to the BHLDN dress, the one from RK was clearly the right choice. It's more bridal and a perfect combination of classic, sexy, simple, and blingy. What truly sealed the deal and blew me away was the veil Hannah put on me. I had my moment, the one I'd seen so many brides have and knew that I was done looking. My family was crying, I was crying, and everyone in the salon was so encouraging and reassured me that this was the right dress.
Hannah went above and beyond to make sure we ordered the right size. She measured me and then had the owner also measure me when she saw where I landed on the size chart. The sample I tried on was a size 12, but the chart said I was supposed to be in an 18. Hannah felt that wasn't right, so she did the professional thing and double-checked with her boss! She was seriously amazing and wanted to make sure I was in the right size. We ended up ordering a 16 because she put me in the same designer's size 14, but even that was a little snug. I was also offered 10% off because it was my first appointment at RK and I was buying a dress! Their prices are fair and definitely doable. My budget was $2,000 and I ended up getting my dream dress for $1400 before tax.
I can't wait to put the dress back on and to order my veil and hairpiece at RK when I go to pick up my dress! Seriously an amazing experience and I 100% recommend asking for...
Read moreYou guys. This was my second time going to RK bridal, the first time was 2 days ago, and this time I went in to buy the dress that I tried on with my consultant, Nadine, on my first appointment. It was the dress I picked out before I even made an appointment at RK Bridal. I always told people that I probably wasn't going to have that emotional connection to a piece of clothing since just about everyone was telling me that "you will know when you know" but I'm very analytical and realistic, so after trying on dresses after dresses, I just didn't think I fit into that special category of people that "gets a feeling" over a dress.
During the first appointment, I felt like the dress was beautiful, I actually didn't hate it, it had every aspect of what I was looking for, but Nadine made sure that I slept on it so I don't make any decisions I'll regret, but we both agreed that this is probably the one.
2 days later, I woke up, called for an appointment because I felt like I slept on it enough, and thought that "the dress could work" and quite frankly, I was just over dress shopping. I was given a 12:30 time slot and was paired up with, the one and only Sheryl. This woman, was PHENOMENAL. We tried on 2 dresses first, including what I thought I was going to purchase and a different silhouette. She went into great details on the pros and cons of both dresses, and for me, who knit picks everything, her walking me through what she sees, in ways I understood, was a complete blessing. And because I came alone, (my MOH is locked down in Australia and my mom lives in Korea and my BMs are all out of state)
Then she said, "let me show you what I mean when I say that that back doesn't complement you, so you can compare" then she brought over, MY dress. THE dress.
I stepped in the dress, she didn't even need to clamp the back of this, it just zipped up and fit perfectly.
Then I got chills. I wasn't cold. I was sweating buckets. And I got chills. Over and over again.
And then I didn't even do the whole talking myself into it - "mm I like the back of this, but not the front, but it could work" - and then not even the whole - "my arms look huge in this, but I could lose a few pounds i guess..." With this dress, I didn't even look at any of the flaws. I just looked at me. And I felt gooooood.
And the price was INCREDIBLE. I went in with such a low budget, I've definitely been budget shamed in the past, and Sheryl made me feel none of that.
Sheryl was my hype woman. She made me feel like I wasn't doing this alone. I'm sure she works on commission and by her bringing me a much lower priced gown and being happy for me when I bonded with this dress, it truly showed that she cares for her brides. I appreciate the hell out of that.
I can't thank Sheryl and Nadine...
