Riverside Gourmet Deli — Restaurant in New York

Dear 57 Deli Gourmet,

I’m writing to express a serious concern regarding the poor customer service my family and I recently experienced during an order placed with your establishment. My husband called to order a chop cheese sandwich and unfortunately forgot to mention our daughter’s severe allergy to onions. He quickly called back to ask that onions be excluded due to the allergy, and the young lady who answered the phone rudely said, “too late,” and hung up on him.

I then called from my own phone (which is saved in your caller ID along with our address), and she refused to answer. When she eventually picked up, she was extremely disrespectful and dismissive, as she often has been in the past. She stated there was no manager available when I asked to speak with one, and her tone and attitude were not only unprofessional but shockingly immature for someone representing your business.

I completely understand the challenges of managing a busy shift and staffing issues, but customer safety and respectful communication should never be compromised. Our daughter’s allergy is a serious health matter, and it was treated with indifference.

This kind of experience discourages loyal customers from continuing to support your business. If left unaddressed, it can seriously damage the reputation you’ve built. I hope you will take this matter seriously, not only for the sake of customer service but for the safety and trust of your...

Both amazing and friendly workers every time I walk in this store they always greet me with friendly smiles can’t imagine this store without them. I absolutely love this store , the Owner and everyone who works here have become like family ! Such a humble and friendly place. Feels good to have Riverside Deli on my block, and to know that anything I may need from the store is just a quick phone call away, or just a few steps away, and the deliverers are so fast and kind. I want to take a moment to recognize Julia at Deli for her outstanding customer service. From the moment I walked in, she greeted me with a warm, genuine smile that immediately brightened my day. Julia has a knack for making everyone feel welcome, and she does it with such natural ease.

Not only is she attentive and friendly, but she also goes above and beyond in her work. Julia is a master at crafting Spanish lattes rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced every time. It’s clear she takes pride in her work and has an eye for detail that makes all the difference.

What really impressed me is how she remembers my order and always checks in to see how I’m doing. That personal touch is rare these days, and it’s one of the many reasons I keep coming back.
