I have been here a few times for raves. I've seen some big name house DJs like Steve Aoki, Zedd, and Alesso. This spot has definitely more of a rave vibe then if you see the same DJs at a club like Pacha. You see a lot more kandi bracelets and furry boots! The good vibes are all in the air here during rave nights and the people are very nice. This place is VERY large and can get very packed too. One employee told me it can hold 15,000+ people. The building is basically long and narrow with the DJ at the end on stage. The sound system here is a little weak, but I wouldn't let that stop you for considering coming here. When it does get packed and you just want some room to dance you have to go back far from the stage and the volume is reduced. You can get around this problem by buying VIP tickets. On the far left and right sides all along the building's length is the elevated VIP section which offers a lot of space.
I've seen prices for rave events here go for 60$-140$. There is a coat check that charges 6$ per item, but you can sometimes get a nice person who will charge 6$ for everything. This is good in the winter. The water here costs 7$ and there are free refills, but finding the refill station is always a chore. It is ALWAYS in a different place every time I go and it is far away from where you are dancing, sometimes it is even outside. Speaking off outside, this is where the bathrooms are. They are not actually rooms, but a row of outhouses like you'd see at a festival. Getting to Pier 94 is tough. 54th on the West Side Highway. There is no subway station that is close. I usually have to get a cab. Getting in is tough too. Every time I've come here there is a HUGE line since there are so many people attending and they have to search every single person and their bags. This is very rough in the winter. There is a VIP line which is quick. I went in this line by accident the first time I came here. They were cool about it and let me in. You also don't have to worry about dress code. There is none. They have a sign outside that prohibits a bunch of rave related items like glow sticks, LED light toys, etc. Don't worry though they will let you in regardless. Also a bonus to this place is they release a lot of confetti from the ceiling and I've seen them drop bubbles too! When you are rolling this is a very awesome experience. This place usually ends around 2-3 AM, but if you didn't get enough of your fix, you can always go to Pacha afterwards which is a few...
Read moreHad a great experience attending the Art Expo NYC at Pier 94. The expo was great, had a huge variety of art. The upstairs has parking has plenty of parking spaces. Taking off 1 star because directions to parking and from the upstairs parking to Pier/92/94 entrance could be better. When we parked at the parking lot, and came down the elevator, we ended up at Pier 90, not Pier 92/94, then had to walk to Pier 94 entrance in the rain. Again, minor annoyance, as otherwise, inside, it was great ambiance, plenty of space, warm and cozy and plenty of...
Read moreHonestly the parking for this cruise terminal is not much to review. On one hand it is expensive but then you need to realize you are parking next to the boat you are boarding and that boat is sitting within a few blocks of times square. Also it's extremely easy to access if you are from out of area via the Lincoln tunnel. Once you access the area you go into the top level, pay the fee, and park. It's simple and easy to access and does the job way better than parking in New Jersey and busing in. Pay the money and have a great trip...
