City Tavern & Table — Restaurant in New York

We tried City Tavern tonight for the first time and were so pleased by the vibe, service and food. This restaurant is new and we had expected at least some glitches but to our surprise there were none. It exceeded our expectations. This is a casual atmosphere with an awesome bar, comfortable seating and good sized tables. There were families with kids, couples tables and even larger tables seating 6 or 8 people in booths. There were many people seated at the bar dining as well and the bar is large and wide with plenty of room for drinks and dining. We were surprised by the owner Elvis who introduced himself to us and remembered our names when we left as did the seating hostess Cynthia. The restaurant was quite busy but not overly loud and the music was audible but in the background making conversation possible. I had the turkey meatloaf which was delicious, served over a mashed potato with gravy and seasoned to perfection. My husband had the salmon bowl which was also delicious. We topped it off with apple crisp a la mode served hot. This was also quite delicious. In short...the place has a great vibe, beautiful dining area and bar, excellent service and absolutely delicious food. To top it all off including main course, two drinks, dessert and tea the bill came to $91 dollars. You can spend that much at a diner but why do that when you can walk down the block to...

We live in the neighborhood and had been waiting for a new spot to open after it sat empty for a while - so happy it finally did! Being pretty far west, we don’t have many restaurants in the immediate area to grab a drink or a bite, so we came in with high hopes.

Our waiter was super friendly and attentive, and everyone who came to our table was great! For cocktails, I had the Fig-geddaboutit and my fiance had the Ocho Loco - both were delicious! I went with the burger, he had the chicken sandwich, and we both opted for the upgrade to truffle fries. We enjoyed the food just as much as the drinks!

The interior is a good balance of casual and upscale, and the vibe overall was really inviting! We’re excited to have a new place in the neighborhood, especially one with a happy hour, and can’t wait to...

This place is amazing. Went to brunch on a Sunday and did not expect such incredible food!!!! The avocado toast and breakfast tacos were both outstanding. The atmosphere is beautiful and tv set up is spot on. I have often found myself doing searches for nice restaurants in nyc with tvs that aren’t just your typical sports bar- and this place is exactly that. Also, the tvs aren’t in your face throughout the whole establishment so they do not ruin the ambiance. You need to try this place out, you will not be disappointed!!! We live a few blocks away but had no idea this place existed, so happy to have...
