I file this complaint against Copacabana Social Club 625 W to alert the community and the authorities of the New York State Consumer Department for 3 very important points: 1.- The damage that is being caused to the consumer. 2.- There are no sanitary conditions 3.- The service is Terrible 4.- The prices of your products are very high. Here my experience in the Copacabana: a.- 05/08/22 my girlfriend and I visited Copacabana to celebrate my birthday. b.- Buy 2 tickets online to enter and reserve a table. c.- Upon entering Copacabana, an employee approached me and informed me that to use the table we reserved we had to buy a bottle of liquor. d.- The prices of liquors started from US$. 400, 500, 600, 800, 900, 1000 up to 1,500 dollars a bottle. e.- I refused to accept the offer to buy a bottle of liquor paying a spectacularly high price. f.- I decided to buy a bottle of wine (Napa) for which they charged me a total of US$. 190.00 dollars. g.- During my stay I realized that at the tables the clients only consumed water and beer. h.- I decided to buy something to eat and the waitress told us that they only offered empanadas, I ordered them and we were charged US$. 12 each pie. i.- During my stay I could feel a lot of heat, humidity and my breathing was increasingly difficult. j.- During my stay I was able to observe that the site (Copacabana) did not have an air conditioning system. k.- The place only had 2 fans. l.- When entering the premises it was 12:30 pm and there were a number of 30 customers more or less. m- Around 2:30 pm there were only around 10 clients, including us, who stayed because we paid a lot of money and it was not fair to leave immediately. n.- My girlfriend complained to the manager for all that abuse against the client and she did not know how to give us a satisfactory answer. Conclusion : 1.- Copacabana Social Club, is the worst place in NY to enjoy. 2.- The lack of an air conditioning system in the premises, is a very high place that endangers the health of the client since it can be very easily infected with covic - 19 or other bacteria that endanger the life of the client. 3.- The service is terrible, they do not have employees trained to serve customers. 4.- The prices of liquor and its products are the highest in New York City. 5.- There is no type of security in the event of a conflict or violent problem on the premises. For all these reasons I do not recommend this site to anyone because it is one of the worst that exists in New York and they are putting the health of their clients at a very high risk. Personally, we will never return to this lousy business (Copacabana) Relocated to 625 w Additionally, I will file my complaint with the NY Department of the Consumer since customers have the right to complain when we believe that businesses are abusing consumers.    Read moreAbout 11 friends and I purchased VIP tickets for an afterprom party. Absolutely NOT worth the outrageously expensive price tag, especially considering the blatant LIES we were fed.
Promises: Party ends at 4am -3 floors of music, including a glass enclosed rooftop -VIP tickets ensure skipping lines, soda, access to exclusive VIP sections Reality: We were the last ones on the dance floor, and they turned the lights on at 3:15, WHILE we were dancing. Then, we were kicked out at 3:30. The man's exact words were "clear out, party's over." Nice service! Although the promo poster said (in very small print) that not all floors would be available on all nights, it was implied that more than one floor would be open, and that the glass roof top floor would be. Instead, only one floor was open, and it was barely full. More people were sitting down and making out rather than dancing, probably why they got away with ending it so early. -We did not skip any lines and had to wait forever; everyone seemed to have VIP tickets. The soda was coke knock-off brand, and it wasn't available unless you specifically asked for it; the only drink actually set out for us was cups of tap water. And the 'exclusive VIP sections' did not exist.
Other miscellaneous vices: -The people were utterly irritating. It was full of suburban posers who had come only to use the NYC snapchat filters and make out on benches. -There was no coat check/bag check, so someone had to constantly not be dancing to watch our stuff. Ugh.
Final assessment: Don't come, but if you do, definitely don't buy VIP tickets; it's a waste of money. We give it two stars because the DJ was cool and listened to our music...
Read moreThey don't respect your $$$$ here! I went for a networking event at Rooftop 760 (AfropolitanNYC). The event itself was decently organized. Upon the conclusion of the event, I was unsuccessful in retrieving my jacket from coat check. They make you pay a $5 coatcheck fee upon checking in (mandatory coatcheck by the way, they tell you this at the door). I had everything in order, my coatcheck ticket, after barely looking I was told my jacket was not there, and then an unruly bouncer proceeded to try to kick me out. I asked to speak to a manager, and I refused to leave without my property. Long story short, after close to 20 minutes of asking, a manager was not made available to me, even though clearly one was around. If I didn't have two of my friends with me, interceding, the bouncer would not have backed down, would have tried to get physical, and I would probably have been forced to defend myself (and he would probably try to sue me for damages, and the law would get involved, over a $200 jacket that the guys in coatcheck were too lazy to look for). The guys in coatcheck kept my ticket, and I left, without my jacket and being able to speak to management. I was able to retrieve my jacket 4 days later. Not one to complain, I feel it is a waste of time going to this place, even if you absolutely don't have a choice, don't waste your time, there's better establishments where they respect your $$$$.
PS. I would give you zero stars, but I have to pick one in order to...
