Uni K Wax Studio | Williamsburg — Attraction in New York

I have been getting Brazilian waxes for years now and I am usually consistent with the waxing lady I book. Unfortunately, she was not available today, so I decided to try this waxing place. I arrived to the Williamsburg location for my Brazilian wax on time and was greeted very dryly by the receptionist - she was not very welcoming. A waxer named Sujana came to the front for me and I followed her to the room. After getting undressed she came inside and started waxing almost immediately and not giving me time to even lay on the bed properly. She asked if it was my first time there to which I replied yes and she said nothing afterwards. She began waxing me very hastily, not once asking if it was too painful or if the wax was too hot. All the waxers I've been to have pressed down on the skin afterwards to reduce the painful feeling. Sujana waxed multiple strips without doing so so I had to ask her if she could press down after she pulled to which she seemed annoyed. Afterwards, she only pressed down when she felt like It I guess because it was not with every pull. At the end, she began tweezing very quickly without even asking if I wanted to be tweezed. Also, she began spraying and rubbing things on my area without even telling me what it was to which I had no clue as it was my first time there. Then she rushed out seeming very annoyed. The receptionist did not ask how my appointment went and was very short like Sujana. I ALWAYS leave a tip after any service, but I did not leave a tip for this waxer because of her nasty attitude and demeanor. I am giving this place 1 star because of the. cleanliness and pace at which I got my wax. I DO NOT RECOMMEND going to Sujana and would hope they have friendlier, more professional, and more considerate...

Unfortunately, terrible management currently. After being loyal to this location, the waxer I used to go to moved and I tried someone new and was so disappointed with the experience, she was cold, too quick, messy, and seemed angry or annoyed the whole time. Then days later the hair grew back and it turned out that she didn’t wax fully at all. Since I had previous good experiences there, I called to see if this could be fixed and to let management know, the manager was unprofessional and unapologetic, she basically called me a liar because that is ‘the best waxer they have’ and instead of attempting to remedy the situation she told me to not come back. I would not recommend this location anymore, it’s changed and I feel like I spent money for a service that was a rip off with a slap in the face afterwards. I hope they can turn this place around again and in the meantime do yourself a favor and GO ELSEWHERE (recommended by the manager herself).

I thought from reading all the reviews that it would be a good experience but it wasn’t! They were not welcoming at all. The lady that waxed me just lead me to the room without any introduction or telling me her name and before I could tell her it was my first time she slammed the door in my face. A few seconds later she knocked on the door to see if I was ready but I’ve never waxed before it was my very first time so I didn’t know what I was supposed to do. She didn’t walk me through anything and expected me to know what positions to be in when she was waxing me. Right after she finished with my Brazilian wax and I was getting off of my stomach she was gone, door slammed again! No goodbye or nothing. After I came out to pay I asked the lady at the front desk how long should I wait to come back and get another wax, which is something the wax lady was supposed to tell me, but the lady at the front desk just laughed and I had to ask my question again just to get an answer. The service I got here was horrible and the wax wasn’t good, got home and found a cut that wouldn’t stop bleeding. Definitely not going back!
