ZZ Day Spa — Attraction in New York

Wow!!!! What a day. My wife and I booked the 5-1/2 hour Couples Royal package. It was worth every penny. From the moment we walked in and were greeted by S.J., we felt welcomed, like walking into a family member's house, greeted with smiles as they took our coats and returned with drinks and escorted us to the tranquility waiting room. Our first 80-minute couples massage was a great way to kick it off. We then spent 30 minutes in a hot tub in the room, and almost fell asleep it was so relaxing. When we emerged, they had lunch waiting for us. After lunch, my wife went for a hydra-facial, I opted out and had another massage, this time it was a 50-minute 4-handed massage (2 therapists working on me). First time to have that service and I'm ruined now for having just 1 therapist next time I get a massage. Another short break with drinks and chocolates, and then it was time for pedicures followed by 30 minutes of feet/leg reflexology massaging. Numerous times throughout the day, S.J. offered us many different types of drinks and made sure we were OK while we waited for the next service. Since we were celebrating our anniversary, they brought us a small cake at the end, followed by more chocolates. Every single one of the staff members was so nice. They went above and beyond. We had 6 different therapists throughout the day and have nothing negative to say about any of the experiences. This is a terribly difficult review to write because I really do love this spa - the facilities and the providers are absolutely wonderful but customer service is lacking in an experience I had today and I am not pleased with the outcome.

TLDR: I was sold a membership under false pretenses, and feel like I was kind of duped into it and now cannot get the services I was directly and specifically told I could redeem.

If you care: Someone sold me a membership package under false pretenses about what that membership would provide - I have the membership where I get monthly facials and was told I could do "add ons" and pay the difference (e.g., my monthly membership covers a European facial and I was told I could get a Hydrafacial and just pay the difference). Sounded great, got the membership, and EVEN USED THAT PERK MULTIPLE TIMES! I went in today to do it again and was told I couldn't do that. After speaking with multiple people, they didn't know what I was talking about.

Now, to be entirely fair, policy is policy and I will absolutely not ding a business because they only provide the services they advertise, there are policies for a reason and I fully get and support that. I am one thousand percent not upset about not getting the service - I'm upset about being lied to and then being talked down to because it's not a great feeling when you feel like you've been had by a business and then being made to feel stupid for trying to redeem said services, especially in front of other people.

Don't make your customers feel stupid - it's not a good business policy. It is a good thing you provide...

While waiting for my appointment, I was pleasantly surprised with a delicious mimosa, which was such a thoughtful and luxurious touch. It was the perfect way to start unwinding before my massage.

Speaking of the massage, Patricia was absolutely outstanding. She is a true expert—attentive, skilled, and intuitive. Patricia took the time to understand exactly what I needed and tailored the session accordingly. Her technique was both powerful and gentle, easing all my tension and leaving me feeling completely rejuvenated. I left the massage room feeling lighter, refreshed, and cared for in a way that’s rare to find.

The entire experience was seamless—from check-in to check-out, every staff member I interacted with was friendly and professional. The spa itself is beautifully maintained, with a peaceful waiting area that made me feel like I was truly stepping away from the city chaos, if only for a little while.
