The Hampton Inn & Suites in Cleveland (the Beachwood location) might be the most modern hotel I've seen - full of the kinds of personal touches that are too often missing from the other chain hotels. There are touches of humor throughout, like a blown-up snapshot with caption inside the elevator, plus a mustache on the coffee cup. And next to every room door in the hallway is a unique photo, casual but artful. Makes it feel more like home.
And it hits all the right notes in the things you expect from a hotel, as well. First was the greeting - even though I arrived after midnight, the desk clerk was waiting there without need for a bell, and more than that, attentive and genuinely friendly. He even took the time to talk about an upcoming visit to my town of Pittsburgh, as he checked me in quickly and handed me my room key, without the need for me to sign or initial anything. I wish all registrations were like this!
On the way to my room I saw a well-appointed coffee & tea station available 24/7, a very nice courtesy. Also a mini-shop with snacks, drinks, wine and travel conveniences available for purchase, another thing I wish would always be available in hotels.
Spacious room, and nicely furnished - the textured bedspread, almost like a quilt, was another homey touch. A nice color scheme, lots of classy lamps, marble on the desk and bathroom vanity, and plenty of outlets, including ones right by the bed. That last detail is usually my first complaint about a hotel, everyone needs to charge their phone at night and it's so frustrating to have to scramble around to find an outlet. A full compliment of Neutrogena products in the bathroom is nice, too. The king bed was very comfy, with what felt just like actual feather pillows, and no noise from inside or outside, I slept like a babe.
Breakfast is served til 10 - great for us late sleepers - and was a really nice spread, in a nice-looking room with more marble and artwork. Again, very classy. Plenty to choose from, including eggs with ham, sausage, oatmeal with all the fixings, fresh waffles, bagels and toast, cereal, hard-boiled eggs, multiple kinds of yogurt, etc. And more friendly staffpeople, who greeted me and offered to fetch anything I might want.
Check-out was again friendly and a breeze, nothing to sign. Not a single complaint about this place - wish I could replicate it in the other towns on my trip.
This would be a great spot for a shopping weekend. Nice location just off the 271 which gets you to the 480 in a couple of minutes. It's in a very new kind of development and shopping center, with a lot of appealing restaurants and wide...
Read more5/5 One of the best hotels we've stayed in. Recently renovated 6 months ago. Fitness center has state of the art equipment - Precor branding which is great equipment. Opened 24/7. Pool and hot tub was nice although we did not get a chance to use as hot tub was full when we tried. Pool water was warm. The bathroom/shower was nice and modern, although door is big for the smaller bathroom space. Need more hooks in the bathroom. Water pressure could be slightly more but they have a hand held shower (the 1st I’ve seen in the hotels). The toiletries were high end brand: Alice & Co The work area was in the middle of the room, different than what we’re used to but not bad. Couch very firm and comfy. Kitchenette has fridge and microwave. Hotel provides 24/7 coffee, tea and lemon water - such a great amenity; also has free breakfast 6-10 am. Breakfast was amazing - with self-made waffles with whipped cream, cheese jalapeno omelette, french toast sticks, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, etc. The lobby ladies restroom has feminine products, first time I’ve seen this. The front desk is friendly and kind; the Front Desk manager was so nice and so was Susanna, always with a smile and ready to assist in any way. They gave us an early check in at 1 pm w/o charging extra - great service. They also invited us to Hilton Honors program and gave us a brown gift bag with 2 bottles of water and 2 fresh baked chocolate chip cookies. What a delight!
I ended up lounging in the lounge area reading my kindle and it was fantastic. The lounge is modern, clean and accommodating to different types of moods and hanging outs.
Definitely would come back here if visiting Cleveland OH again! This is the first time I did not want to...
Read moreMy daughter and I stayed here for our mother and daughter weekend the 18th through 20th of August. We enjoyed our time together and she couldn't be happier. The customer service was lacking thereof (no welcoming vibes) and incompetent. We were checked in by someone in training. I gave my name to the front desk female twice (x2). She still then charged me for someone else rooms which I had already paid for my room online by a third party travel company. She was not remorseful and acted like she didn't care and the one training her (manager) was also incompetent (and non remorseful) and acted like it wasn't a big deal. ( I was showing signs of being upset for being charged twice and then I finally get a "sorry about that". (Last time my family is staying at the Hampton when we travel anywhere). The rooms were cleaned pretty well. The pool area was nice, clean and stocked with towels. Hot tub was working and a nice addition. Continental breakfast was nice ( I made sure I was one of the first down there at 6:00AM ) waffle maker (delicious toppings), already made omelets, variety of breads, sausage with onions, red peppers etc., and juices Recommendations: Hire staff that are active listeners. Hire staff that feel welcoming to any community of travelers.
This is comment is for the Spiritual community (not religious). The vibes are awful and not welcoming (my daughter was able to spot some things even at her age but we made jokes about it and laughed) (vibes of following and watched behavior- for over...
