The addition of this store just makes so much sense. It seemed weird to me before that there wasn’t a BIG, main Universal gift shop in Citywalk. I mean, sure, they’ve always had the legacy store which is on the other side of the square, and big shops in the entrance of both theme parks, but it’s still different.
Tons of people go to CityWalk every day without ever stepping foot in the parks. It’s only logical to then have a store where you can find lots of souvenirs and goodies outside of the parks.
Disney has a massive gift shop in Disney Springs that attracts way too many people, because tons of people go to Disney Springs without ever going to their given theme parks. They know what they’re doing. So it was a good move for Universal to do the same.
But I have to say, I did still have higher hopes for this store. It’s much bigger looking from the outside than it is inside, I think. They do have some really neat stuff, and actually some things you can’t really find inside the parks, especially in the Harry Potter section. But it’s still not an impressive store, especially for being the “big” Universal Shop in CityWalk. I don’t know man, maybe I just had too high of expectations.
I’ll also clarify something at the bottom here for all who were very confused like myself: there are 2 “Universal Studios Store”’s. This one, as you can read in the title, is located in CITYWALK. It’s a brand new store that only opened very recently. There’s an original Universal Studios Store inside the Universal Studios theme park, and the title of that also labels it. Apparently the Universal heads couldn’t be creative enough to come up with different names for these stores, or else just wanted to thoroughly confused everyone of which they were most...
Read moreSo i wrote a revue for one park not to long ago basicaly just stating my concerns for the decreasing leval of satisfaction at the parks. Basicaly stated how real rides are being replaced with simulators that are basicaly the same kong and fast furious are the same ride spiderman and transformers are the same ride and how a bunch of the people working there look sooo sloppy. So they contacted me and wanted to make it better, i was surprised like ok no prob thank you. So i got 20 bucks and 8 ride passes. I wasnt expecting anything from them so i was like cool. We got to the parks today got our 20 dollar gift card like its what ever its not worth much here so great and as for the fast passes they exclude all the good rides and on top of it all they are only for today so since there are not enough rides to go on that these apply to so i wont even be able to use them all. So universal you failed us unless you do somthing significant my wife and i orlando natives who live around the corner and spend alot at your parks i can honestly say we are done. And i hope that many people see what i have wrote and know not to waist there money. Its gotten to the point we only go for harry potter and we cant even use these passes they gave us for anything there i wish they would just give me a full refund on our anual passes we have the top tear passes its been 3 or so months and we regret getting them soooo badly we still have a year on them never again will i give these...
Read moreUniversal is a great experience if you just want to walk around and look at everything and then eat something throughout the day. But when it comes to their Express Pass and riding rides, it becomes an issue. At Disney they have the FastPass, which is built into everyone's ticket (probably because tickets are outrageously expensive to begin with), and no one is given special treatment when it comes to the FastPass. At Universal you better hope you have a well paying career or that you've saved over the past 2 years just to get the Express Pass for your tickets. Universal is already expensive to begin with (more expensive than Disney), and it's at least an hour on each roller coaster. So I just find it hard to believe that they can't provide something similar when it comes to the Express Pass instead of charging you more for it when you've already paid a ton for your tickets. And don't even think about trying to get Express Passes on the day of going to the park, because you'll be paying at least $100 per...
