A Fantastic Dining Experience!
Our recent dinner was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. When we first walked in the hostess greeted us with a genuine smile and got us seated.
We were greeted by our server, Nicole quickly and she was wonderful—very personable, confident, and fun. She was excellent at answering all our questions and helping us choose from the menu.
The food was outstanding. For appetizers, the fried green tomatoes were a standout; they were easily some of the best we've ever had, (I am telling you these fried green tomatoes are UNMATCHED) and the fireside shrimp was also delicious, perfectly seasoned, and a huge hit with everyone. Every meal was a success. My shrimp and grits were great with collard greens and hush puppies (all of it was chefs kiss)! My brothers described the honey skillet corn 10/10. The burgers were tried by an adult and a 10 yr old, both were described as being seasoned and cooked perfectly. We also tried chicken wings and pretzel bites appetizers. My preteen daughter said ALL the apps were bussin' (in Gen Z terms, this means very good!) The kids' chicken and waffles were also a huge hit (you can't always find a kid size chicken and waffles, so we were excited it was an option) —it was so fun that the kid meals were served on a frisbee to keep! My son said "the chicken was fire."
Even dessert was a winner; the salted caramel cheesecake was a delicious way to end the meal. If I wasn't full, I would have definitely tried the key lime pie and the lemon cake. Which reminds me, the portions were very good! I wish I had more taken pictures of my food, but we were enjoying each other's company and the atmosphere. I checked the website and the menu pictures are accurate for the food presentations.
The drinks: we tried several of specialty mixed drinks that come in a souvenir cup. All of them were good. You can't go wrong on any of the ones you order!
Throughout the restaurant, it was such a fun atmosphere with so many picture opportunities to take with your family or friends. With the time that we visited they had broke out some fall/Halloween decorations (see pictures of chicken skeletons), very cute and funny since they do serve chicken!
The gift shop is so fun and has so many options (way more I can list). It was hard to resist all the fun things in the gift shop. I have a really cute retro car shirt I got! (See pic collage). My son got a little stone spirit animal with a tiny card that has the meaning of it. All the little keychains, stickers, and coasters with funny sayings are entertaining and good gifts! (See pic collage).
The bathrooms were very clean and stocked.
We were all extremely impressed with our Wicked Wheel visit and had a wonderful time. We can't wait to...
Read moreI recently dined at this restaurant and had a truly enjoyable experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly by the staff, which set the tone for the evening. The atmosphere was inviting and cozy, making it a perfect spot for a relaxed meal.
The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the food. Each dish was bursting with flavor, meticulously prepared, and beautifully presented. The fried chicken, in particular, stood out. It was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, seasoned to perfection. It’s evident that the kitchen staff takes great pride in their work, and it shows in every bite. I also had the chance to try a few other items on the menu, all of which were equally impressive, showcasing a range of flavors and culinary expertise.
Service was another strong point. The waitstaff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. They were quick to offer recommendations and ensured that our dining experience was pleasant from start to finish. It’s rare to find such a combination of excellent food and service, and this restaurant certainly excels in both areas.
However, one aspect that I found disappointing was the policy on soft drink refills. After paying over $3 for a soda, I was surprised to learn that only one refill was offered. This seemed a bit stingy, especially considering the overall cost of the meal. In my opinion, providing unlimited refills would greatly enhance the customer experience and align better with the otherwise generous nature of the restaurant.
Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious meal and top-notch service. Despite the minor issue with the drink policy, the quality of the food and the exceptional service make it a fantastic dining destination. I will definitely be returning to enjoy more of their delectable dishes. I...
Read moreMe and my boyfriend came to eat dinner 2 nights ago. Our server was Lennon; he did fantastic on his service. He recommended the Candied Bacon Burger and the backfire shrimp appetizer, which were beyond amazing. I also got sweet potato fries and mashed potatoes with gravy (very good). HOWEVER. My boyfriend DID NOT have the same experience I did. He got the catfish with grits. DO NOT. GET. THE CATFISH. I REPEAT. DO NOT. unless your goal is to spend days having to constantly be close to the bathroom, nights unable to remove yourself from the toilet, vomiting, severe dehydration, fever, and cold chills that make you shake so bad you think you are dying. We ate the same exact things for days and the rest of that night. Except the catfish. I am not sick at all. He felt it within hours after he ate it. He called the restaurant the next day and let them know that he had gotten food poisoning from the catfish. They said he must have the stomach bug because no one else reported food poisoning from the catfish. They tried to say food poisoning symptoms could not show up that fast (within hours). They tried to say that it takes 12-14 hours before the symptoms can show. As someone who has had food poisoning from salmon before, that is not true at all. I had to rush him to the hospital this morning. To no one’s surprise, He has salmonella. Luckily we caught it in time. So. For the workers who answered the phone saying it was a stomach bug, educate yourselves. Store and cook your food properly. To anyone else that may be thinking of getting fish there, DO NOT. unless you want this to...
