Not entirely what I expected.
The first room we had was next to the elevators so I was unable to sleep with them running all night. We did try to switch rooms the first evening but the only room left was next to the indoor pool which was heavily occupied with families around 9pm. When we opened the door to the room the air was very humid and musty. With a 6 year old and an infant I didn’t want to chance mildew and mold exposure so we went back to our previous room. The next day we were able to switch rooms away from the elevator and things went much smoother.
Everything otherwise looks clean but I will say that there is a heavy smell of cleaner and fragrance in the air. If you don’t use fragrance like this at home it may feel overwhelming to you as there are air misters on each level that spray a perfume in the air periodically. People with babies and children may especially find this irritates their airways.
The pillows do not offer much in the way of support. I recommend bringing your own or asking for extra at the front desk. The beds aren’t particularly comfortable but I do feel the pillows are the nail in the coffin here
The pool was very enjoyable for our family. I do wish we brought goggles though. As previous posts have mentioned, the chlorine levels seem to be a little high. My husband and daughter said the water burned their eyes while swimming.
We never had an issue with parking but also had the Diamond parking spaces available to us which were very nice especially with carrying our infant.
They post throughout the hotel that bugs are to be expected as this hotel is near a National park. As an insect enthusiast my only complaint was NOT seeing any insects during our stay but I imagine most people would be very glad to know that!
This location was nice for proximity to things. We never drove longer than 10 mins to any destination except for Gatlinburg and that was only 20 mins. This hotel is located on a street that runs parallel to the main strip so a lot of traffic is avoided by taking this road - Teaster- to other sites.
All in all, I’m sure this hotel offers wonderful things for many traveling families but as for us, we will try another Hilton location when we come to visit our family again. This one just...
Read moreTook my family on our first real vacation checked in Thursday around lunch attendant put us on the second floor we walked in the room and walked right back out there were a large group of teenage running up and down the halls hollering and knocking on doors and running the attendant put on us the third floor that was noisy but bearable the beds felt like laying on plywood and the carpet looked like it was put in the 90s Saturday morning we got a complimentary wake up call we didn't ask for at 6:30am we woke to the sound of hammer right above our room I called to the front desk and asked if they could work on another area of the 4th floor she said that she would tell the maids to ask but the hammer only intensified it went on all day until around 2pm we had to take the stairs several times because the contractors would hold the elevators or have huge rolling garbage bins that barely fit in the elevator I watched them clean off work items in a bucket and then pour the chemical filled bucket right into the storm drain clearly marked do not dump we weren't told about the construction at the front desk we found out about it on the elevator there was a posting talking about minimal noise and other lies got home Monday looked at my bank statement I was charged $684 and I asked twice if that included the $75 pet fee and twice I was told yes this was a lie that I will let my bank handle I was charged $684 $75 and $74 I was never given a receipt despite asking several times I would avoid this place it's dirty and in complete disarray and the staff that I interacted with would be better suited working at burger king or McDonald's where your only required to stand there and breathe... Your right I could have stayed somewhere else if you would have been upfront about the construction and laziness of your employees I hope that thousands of people see your reply to this and decide to stay elsewhere I'm sure the that the EPA will be in touch with you shortly about your contractors dumping chemicals into drinking...
Read moreThe entrance to the hotel is a little rough. Especially if you are visiting for the rod run and have an older vehicle it will drag. That is the only complaint. The lobby staff was very friendly every time we came in or as we were leaving. The lobby itself was very nice, clean, up to date and welcoming. The rooms were absolutely clean and fresh. The beds are some of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. They were firm and fluffy with soft and light sheets. The comforters are thick and heavy for those like myself that need some quilted weight on their legs to feel comfortable. We didn't stay in the hotel alot but at night to get wound down we would watch television and they have great channel options. Rooms are quite, the walls are not paper thin but I remember the doors are heavy and slam when they shut. (Sorry another complaint but a small one) just be cautious and curtious shutting the door. They have gym equipment I didn't use it but walked through it seemed like well maintained equipment and smelled clean. The indoor pool was a big hit with kids in the hotel. Especially since it was a little cool that weekend. The outdoor fireplace patio area was absolutely wonderful. I am so upset I didnt get a photo to share The BREAKFAST was amazing. Eggs and ham, biscuits and gravy, fresh fruit , waffle maker, oatmeal, bagels and muffins , cereal or yogurt. The ladies working breakfast were amazing the tables stayed clean and food bins stayed fresh and hot. They always spoke or asked if they could get you anything. Just wonderful no reason at all to eat breakfast anywhere else we didnt even want to. It was an amazing experience cant wait to...
