I am truly so grateful to have found a stylist I can TRUST whole-heartedly with my hair. Additionally, there are so many other reasons why I would suggest Michelle if you are currently looking for a stylist that is exceptionally skilled in a very involved hair treatment such as rebonding.
While researching, I came across Michelle's salon online. I was previously getting these straightening treatments done with another stylist, but I was looking for a better fit. Based on client photos and the wonderful things so many people had to say, I decided to reach out. When I tell you I am never looking back - I mean it! Booking with Michelle was one of the best things I could have decided to do. During our first contact, I found that she was flexible with scheduling and very thorough in her approach (questions, hair history, personal preferences, goals for appointment, etc.) She had me send over a couple hair photos so she could try to evaluate the regrowth. Even then she began addressing things she noticed about my hair which I hadn't brought up, but that I did feel needed help. That was really nice for me considering I don't always know how to relay things when it comes to my hair. A large part of that being I am not very educated on all things hair. That initial exchange was the first sign to me (of many) indicating that Michelle is extremely committed to her clients' needs AND well-being. After reviewing photos, Michelle provided a brief overview of how she prices her services and what the day of the consultation would look like if I decided to proceed with her.
The top things that I loved about Michelle's approach was her honesty in every single aspect (from scheduling all the way to when I left her chair) and her desire to EDUCATE. This was probably the biggest factor in my knowing instantly that I would be really happy with Michelle and her work. She made an absolute point to explain every step of the way what she was doing and to inform me of all the 'Why's and 'How's along the way (I actually learned quite a bit in our 10 hours together!) That's something that is rare in the world of hair, I feel. I really want to emphasize this! I have had so many horrendous experiences with my hair (being cut/styled/what have you) in the past. I came to her explaining how important it was for me to find a long-term stylist that I could trust to do well. Additionally, I expressed that I needed her help in establishing better maintenance practices so my Lots-a-Locks would be moving in the right direction going forward. I wanted guidance and education on how to best handle my hair type, care for it going forward, and what I needed to do/know/get in order to establish preventive and proactive measures. I was requiring someone with the ability to ensure my healthiest hair possible - now and later. She was so patient and helpful in all of that. It was very insightful and I felt properly equipped to maintain my hair properly afterward. She was legitimately a wealth of knowledge and it was all backed up with factual information/education so I never had any reason to doubt her judgment or advice! (#scienceminded)
Michelle is definitely the type of stylist to be conservative before rigorous, which in the world of hair treatments of this caliber is an absolute MUST! (Really not trying to have 15+ years of hair growth fried off in the name of carelessness). I hope she never changes this about her approach. Michelle's many years of experience show because of all these things. Outside of the above, the actual treatment result itself was also just phenomenal! This is the best rebonding result I have ever had. I see an exemplary skill on her part which has been built over years of practice. Additionally, she just truly cares about her clients. At all points, she did everything to go above and beyond for me and I appreciate it so much. Besides the hair stuff, I am also grateful to have found a seriously amazing person in her. You won't regret booking with her. I mean it.
Well, whatcha waitin for?...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI do not recommend Michelle at all she's not a straightforward or an honest person at all. She damaged my hair and did not tell me. After I did the Japanese hair straightening treatment with her (which I realized it was a relaxer) my hair had a very weird awful pattern it looked like it was fried she calls it āvibrating pattern.ā When I sent her a picture of my hair she told me my hair needed more time to process and she was scared to leave the product longer on my hair so she had to wash it and thatās why it looked like that and I believed her. She told me to go to her again so she can apply a GK treatment to fix and smooth my hair as it looked horrible. It didnāt work she asked me to go again and still did not. She was in reality damaging my hair more instead of doing like deep conditioning treatments. Iām leaving a review now because I FOUND OUT FROM OTHER STYLISTS THAT THIS IS DAMAGE AND SHE WAS LYING. I have also been told from other stylists that what she is using is a relaxer (because she washed my hair on the same day of the process while in fact the original Japanese straightening treatment canāt be washed for 72 hours) My advise if you still want to go there after this review ask her what she uses and let her pour the products in front of you and watch her reaction. If any damage happens she will blame it on anything but never on her. She told me at the beginning when she saw this pattern this might be damage from the hair color(then she quickly changed what she said as I mentioned and said it needed time to process) Before I colored my hair by the way I showed her the hair dye I will use and she was ok with it and she even told me to have it dyed with a woman that she trusts named Oahn (sheās a nice woman). After that she came up with the āyour hair needed more time to process. Itās not damage!ā I was living for 8 months thinking my hair needed more time to process instead of taking care of the damage! I do not recommend her at all!
**Adding to my review that before I went to her I had not have my hair colored for 3 to 4 years as I sent her in the message which I will post now and the only lady who applied my hair color was Oahn that she recommended which is a very nice woman. I DID NOT...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve been meaning to write this review for two months now, and though life got in the way, it was always on my listābecause Mitchell truly deserves it.
I was visiting Dallas when I came across her salon while looking for a treatment to smoothen my hair and make it easier to manage. Iāve always been interested in trying different hair treatments, but I had never done Japanese hair straightening before, so I was hesitant. My schedule was all over the place, and I kept going back and forth trying to figure out a time that would work. Mitchell was already getting booked up, but she was kind enough to fit me ināand Iām so grateful she did.
At first, I thought she might not be very friendly, but as we started talking, I quickly realized how wrong I was. Mitchell is one of the most knowledgeable and sincere stylists Iāve ever met. Iāve been to many salons across different states, but her level of care and attention stood out. She didnāt just do the treatment and send me offāshe walked me through the aftercare, explained the products I should use, and made sure I knew how to maintain the results. She even finished the treatment 30 minutes earlier than expected, which is rare! Most places underestimate the time, and Iāve ended up waiting around much longer than promised.
Even after the treatment, I was nervousāIāve had bad experiences where my hair reverted or even got worse after the first wash. But now, two months later, my hair still feels smooth, looks great, and the best part isāI barely use heat on it anymore. Thatās a huge win for me, as Iāve always wanted to avoid heat damage. I did notice some hair fall, but I believe that could be due to other reasons, and I donāt attribute that to the treatment or Mitchell at all. I will work on it separately and see if it gets better.
What really impressed me is how thorough and professional she is. She documents everything before starting the treatment, which I actually appreciate a lot. It shows she runs her business with integrity and transparencyāsomething I think more stylists should do, even if itās not always the āeasyā route.
I honestly wish I lived in the same city as Mitchell because I donāt think I can trust anyone else with my hair the way I trusted her. Sheās talented, hardworking, kind, and incredibly smart. If I ever visit Dallas again, Iāll absolutely be going back to her.
Mitchell, thank you for making me feel so comfortable and confident through the whole process. I apologize for the delay in writing this review, but I hope it reminds you of how appreciated your work is. Wishing you all the successāyou truly...
