Read moreUnfortunately, the worst shopping experience of my life occured here. I'm 30 years old and have always loved to shop. That being said, I've experienced many different retail environments from a customer perspective in many different states, as well as also working retail with multiple years' experience, so I am very familiar with the pressures & requirements employees face with customer service, and which rules when broken are grounds for employment termination. The sales associates as well as the very manager of women's shoes deliberately ignored me while perusing through Louboutin, Chanel, and Gucci. I spent 10 minutes in the area and not once did an associate or the very manager of the department approach me to offer any assistance, or a simple greeting for that matter. But the moment an elderly woman approached the same display that I had been hanging around, I immediately noticed the manager approach her for assistance. This was a blatant act of discrimination against me, and I felt VERY humiliated and discrespected. What's ironic about this is that I had just spent the weekend shopping at Nordstrom and purchasing over $4,000 worth of merchandise on my Nordstrom credit card, including a pair of Valentino Garavani pumps for $825. I was no where near my credit limit and was genuinely interested in a pair of Louboutin with which to end my spree. I was very upset for the next few hours by the utter disrespect & discrimination that had been done me by these very unprofessional & rude associates who obviously lack basic, elementary skill of customer service & engagement, or company policy. These associates should be fired, no question. They are a liability to Nordstrom for...
Read moreI was honestly surprised by the service I got today. At first, the only person who really acknowledged or spoke to me was the security guy by the front door who was very nice. I came in to bring back two rain jackets I had bought online because they weren't available in store, but didn't fit once I got them at home. I walked in with a quite large box and went through almost every department between the second and third floor with no acknowledgement of my existence at all. I very excitedly found the same jacket I had bought online in two sizes in the size actually needed and tried it on in a mirror on the floor. Multiple enployees walked past me without greeting me, even as I was trying it on. I continued through the store carrying my big box and large jacket and still nothing. I wandered into the lingerie department on the third floor because I worked in and eventually was an assistant manager in this department here in portland for three years. Still nothing. Eventually a very sweet woman came out and asked if she could hold my items while I looked. I basically had given up at that point, even though I had other things I wanted to buy. I have nothing but nice things to say about the girl who helped me, who said she was the assistant manager of the lingerie department. Good on her for treating me like an actual person. If I had been approached in other departments I would have loved to buy more items. Sorry if I don't look like your typical customer, but like I said it was more disappointing than anything else. Bummed, and probably won't be back, even as a pretty dedicated Nordstrom shopper when I need...
