I absolutely LOVED my experience here! This salon is a must-go, with affordable prices and a wonderful friendly environment! The students will take extra care in getting your hair exactly how you want it, with great communication and extra tips from the instructors as they go. I will definitely come here again, I came out of this salon with my most favorite hair ever! Every hair cut comes with a wash before and a style after, and they will always offer fruit water or chamomile tea. The service is top tier. You just have to make sure you go when you have extra time, because as the students want to handle your hair with extra care, you will need to be patient as that takes more time! I was lucky to have two incredible students, Nayla Olsen (insta:@hairbynaylao) and Paige Buck (insta:@paigesbeauty.page) work on my hair and they did a fantastic job! I asked to darken all my hair, give a copper balayage, then do a butterfly cut with wispy curtain bangs, face-framing pieces, and short layers that created a soft, rounded U-shape. I wanted a haircut that could give more bounce and depth to wavy hair when I did my wavy hair routine and it totally worked! It was a lot of steps and a long process but my hairstylists did a fantastic job throughout it all and we became great friends! Once we got to see the end results, I’d never felt so beautiful and confident!! The highlights turned out SO good and they definitely define my waves and the layers add so much more volume and bounce! And the bangs turned out perfect, I’ve been getting so many compliments! Thank you Nayla and Paige for your excellent service!! 🙌💖💇‍♀️

Haven't hit up a hair salon in over ten years. Every time I went before, they'd mess up my bleach job and overcharge me. Got fed up and decided to handle it myself. But recently, dealing with grays and the whole DIY thing got old, so I thought, why not give Aveda a shot? They're always bustling, and I figured the students might go the extra mile since they're still in school. I was a bit anxious, but honestly, I was just done managing my own hair. Met Cali, my stylist, and she was awesome. Listened to what I wanted and looped in with the instructors to make sure they were on the same page. That meant a lot to me. Cali made me feel at ease, took her time, and it was her first experience with my hair type. She was determined to get it right. Two instructors popped in, giving guidance without being too bossy. I loved how they'd ask Cali for her input, and she sounded like she knew her stuff. You could tell she'd done her homework. My hair turned out awesome—lighter than it's ever been at a hair salon. Cali also had a smart solution for my grays. At first, she had her approach suggestions, but I wanted something a bit different. No resistance or trying to talk me out of it; she worked with me to find a plan that worked. Loving my hair color, and I'm happy to have found someone to take care of it. I'm definitely going back, already booked Cali for my daughter this week, and my other girl's planning an appointment too. Cali and Aveda definitely earned that 5-star review from me. Seriously impressed, and I'm already eyeing their other services for future visits. Ask for Cali for your hair services :)

I’ve been going to Aveda for all my hair needs from cuts to color to blonding for the past 2-3 years. In the past, I’ve had great experiences here at Aveda but the last 3 times I’ve come some part of my hair has turned out poorly. I don’t know what’s changed but it’s clearly been for the worse. This most recent time, I went in asking to add caramel dimension to my dark brown hair and ended up with light baby lights. While they were well done baby lights by the student, they were much cooler than the inspiration photo I showed and my entire hair color has lightened much lighter than I was expecting or enjoy seeing on myself. I place no blame on the student and recognize it’s a school but ended up crying in my car after leaving. I went back in to try and get myself scheduled as soon as possible to dye it back to what I wanted or at least my original color and although I didn’t even ask for a refund (since it’s a student school and I know not to expect it), the manager talked down to me and said I was only 1 shade lighter than I had asked for and it wasn’t a problem. The wonderful receptionists helped me to set a new appointment after she left but it was a very negative experience overall and nothing like the experience I used to have at Aveda. Attached are photos of how dark I was at the start of the appointment, my inspo photo, and the hair I ended up with :(

DUDES BEWARE tldr; ask for someone who knows men's cuts OR be very very straightforward and persistent about what you want. Otherwise, you'll be there a while and won't leave satisfied.

My fiancée got her hair cut here a few weeks ago (went great) and her stylist said she specializes in men's cuts... so I got one myself, assuming other students would be at least familiar with men's cuts. I wish I would've just gone to Great/Sport Clips. 🫥They must not get very many guys in—my stylist seemed quite nervous, so the cut took an hour and 20 mins—about 3 times longer than any place I've been to. I initially asked for 1/3-1/2 inch off the top, and they only did maybe 1/6 inch. It looks like nothing happened!

By the end, the back and sides turned out good enough... but neither the student nor educator knew how to finish the cut. Didn't touch sideburns Didn't buzz the extra hair further down the back of the neck past where it was rounded Didn't brush off the hair left on my neck afterwards—the student just said "oh uhh there's a bunch of hair on your neck, sorry........" I had to specifically ask them to wipe it off!! No attempt to style it afterwards. It was left just fuzzy. How am I supposed to think it looks good if it's a mess?

Like I said before though—the majority of the cut is done pretty well! The educator made sure everything was blended, which I appreciate.

I mean no shade to the student - they are there to learn, but I'm surprised that neither student nor educator did anything about sideburns, making sure the neck was buzzed, or cutting anywhere near the requested length. The top and front look the same as when I started! For an hour and 20 minutes, ultimately I left really unsatisfied. I'm...
