Availed of the paddleshare services - the lake is pretty decent for beginners who want to try out paddleboarding/kayaking/canoeing, as it's pretty small and calm (and the shorelines are marshy). As long as you keep at the middle of the lake, it's pretty nice to leisurely paddle around. It is right next to the highway, though, so it's not really "away from the hubbub". Plus, it's pretty close to the airport, so planes are constantly flying overhead, so docking a star for the noise. Fishing docks look nice and well kept, and there are wheelchair-accessible rolling ramps for easy transfer from wheelchair to kayak into the lake. Read moreLake is very dirty and vegetation is out of control. The bottom is totally filth and silted beyond relief unless the lake is drained and the bottom cleaned. Quality of the fishing is very poor unless you like carp and little bullheads. The vegetation around the lake is unmaintained and actually keeps people from enjoying the lake itself. Grass is uncut, trees fallen all around the lake and in the lake itself. The only thing it has not got to is the point where it's being choked out by cattails and Reed's like over at the Veterans Park. I suppose the City of Richfield doesn't...
