Gave this place a couple of chances... merely edible to disappointing. Decor modeled on something that you'd find in a kindergarten classroom. The menu is typical to the point of boring. Tacos Arabes were very good, but I do take exception to the extraordinarily SOGGY pastor. I loves me some pastor, but they apparently do not leave it on the spit long enough to crisp a little, nor do they finish it on the grill to do so, either. Also, the Torta I got was easily the LEAST amount of food I've EVER received for $11 in a fast casual place. UNbelievable. Finally, what's up with these places and the scroogeness regarding the sauces? Andale does this too, Mi Ama didn't... Nor does Sanchez at the Hub. Taqueria El Ranchito (IMO the best of them all) gives you your own damn SQUEEZE BOTTLES to take to your table, help yourself! Hacienda, you'd be doing yourself (and the environment) a favor by providing FULL 2oz cups of sauce instead of those half-full 1oz sizes, and not acting like you're giving away GOLD when someone asks for another couple with their $20...
Read moreDespite this establishment hasn't been quite the same in terms of vibe and flavor in comparison to before the pandemic, it is still a very sweet taco joint with cheap affordable food that provides comfort, especially after offering birria items including the birria ramen which I had ordered.
In terms of taste, the birria ramen was very salty, to the point that I had to water it down a bit to finish it. I appreciated the idea of having this option but I seriously think more meat and more noodles are needed for the consomé to not have an overpowering taste. The tacos tasted good as usual and had a good amount of ingredients which I loved. Previously I came here to get lengua tacos and they had very little dry lengua meat. The torta was also good in the most conventional way, which grilled chicken, mayo, and more.
Back in the days I used to order a tray of tacos, 25 of them, for about $75 which I believe is still the case for the same price. I know that people in general will appreciate this establishment for its affordability on comfort food that...
Read moreWell after reading previous reviews of this location, I was a little skeptical, but when it comes to tacos, I never let anyone get in my way! I went during my working hours during lunch break (Monday at noon).
Should I be worried that I would be late as I read the service was slow? Should I be worried my tummy would feel ill as I read the food was greasy? Should I be worried that I'd be disappointed because of lack of flavor and lack of salsa? Should I be worried that my lack of Spanish skills would get me in trouble? I say NO to all of those worries! Food came out in a very timely manner, bursting with flavor. As you can see in my pic, plenty of salsa and lime per taco. They were not greasy at all. The nice lady who took my order spoke both English and Spanish very well and even understood my Spanglish! The restaurant was very clean and the food was awesome...if you live, work, or are just hanging out in the area and are hungry for some great authentic Mexican food, this is your place. Oh and I really recommend the carnitas! Pastor was very tasty...
