First off, I want to start by saying that I love Zupas and I would take a bullet for this business. Because of how much I care about them, I am going to leave this brutally honest review about this location. The past two times I have gone here, the customer service has been lazy, forgetful, and slightly unsanitary. Each of these times I have had to interject multiple times throughout the process so they don’t make a mistake on my order. It seems like there are many transition points down the line where the instructions for orders don’t get communicated to the next person handling the food. I watched the opening person tell the sandwich maker to make my sandwich 3 times. After waiting a couple minutes at the end of the line I found out that they never even made it. When I finally got it, it had the wrong bread, probably cause the guy couldn’t hear it the first three times it was told to him. When making my salad they ran out of dressing out front and asked if I wanted light dressing or a different kind mixed in. Clearly they did not want to take the time to go to the back and get more. When we walked in, we saw one employee wipe his forehead with his hand, and proceeded to keep using that glove. Another employee had a hole in his glove. And at the end, a separate employee bare-handed the strawberries. Then at the very end, they couldn’t figure out what food went on each tray, so instead of asking, they guessed and made mistakes. This was all just from the last time. The time before that was me correcting them throughout the process and solving the classic food mismatch at the end when three peoples orders get mixed up on the trays.
Again, I love this place so much and would walk into this location over a Panera any day. But there is another location on the other side of Richfield who has done a great job every time, and it’s easy enough for me to take my business there until the staff here shapes up...
Read moreJust tried Cafe Zupas tonight for the first time. I ordered one of their protein bowls; the Thai Peanut Coconut. I thought it was really good. The spicy peanut sauce they put on it is really good too. Huge selection of soups! They let you sample soups if you want to try before ordering. I loved all 3 I sampled. Two were a seafood bisque and one was Wisconsin cauliflower. Purchased the roasted red pepper & lobster soup. It was very good and comes with a complimentary roll. They don’t nickel and dime you on all the extras either. I requested an extra side of the peanut sauce, which was complimentary and was also given a complimentary chocolate covered strawberry, which I guess is standard. Their desserts looked really good. Bought a creme brûlée, although not typically a big fan, it looked amazing. Haven’t tried it yet... too much food. Went to pay for my to-go order and although I didn’t want a drink, being a first time customer, the cashier gave me a small cup to sample their specialty drinks . I tried the blackberry basil. It was good, refreshing, not heavy. I would definitely go back again! I felt the price was decent for the amount of food I got. The customer...

I have been a regular customer at Zupaz Cafe on 66th Street in Bloomington, MN, but after my recent experience, I will not be returning. The person working at the cashier was incredibly rude. He ignored me at the counter and instead talked to another customer, asking who owned the food on the table. When the customer responded, he realized the order was mine. Rather than apologize or address the situation, he called someone else to handle my credit card and walked away without another word.
When I asked to speak to a supervisor, he claimed there wasn't one available. This blonde-haired, tall employee clearly shows favoritism towards certain customers and doesn't seem to care about others. It's disheartening to see such poor customer service, especially from a place we've frequented regularly.
This kind of behavior is unacceptable, and if it continues, Zupaz Cafe is likely to lose more loyal customers. Immediate action is needed to address this issue and ensure all customers are treated...
