Our recent visit to Beach Escape Game, particularly to the “Abandon All Hope” room, was a mixed experience, showcasing creative puzzles within a discomforting thematic setting. While escape rooms are intended to challenge and entertain, the explicit themes in this room raised significant concerns for us.
The puzzles in “Abandon All Hope” were both challenging and creatively constructed, presenting intricate clues and complex problem-solving opportunities that are the hallmark of a well-designed escape room.
However, the overall experience was significantly marred by the room’s explicit satanic decor. The setting included pervasive satanic symbols and themes woven directly into the puzzles themselves. As Christians, this content was not only unsettling but also deeply distressing, creating a conflicting experience where the quality of the game’s design was overshadowed by a profoundly uncomfortable atmosphere.
The use of ouija boards and other dark motifs in both the puzzles and the decor contributed to an environment that felt inappropriate and off-putting. This was compounded by the lack of any prior warning about the nature of the room’s themes. If there had been appropriate disclosure regarding the explicit content, we would have opted for a different room that better aligned with our values and comfort levels.
For anyone considering a visit to Beach Escape Game, it is essential to thoroughly inquire about the theme and decor of the room beforehand, especially if you have specific religious or spiritual sensitivities. Such transparency from the venue would allow potential guests to make informed decisions that respect their personal beliefs and comfort.
In conclusion, while the puzzles in “Abandon All Hope” demonstrated creativity and provided a robust challenge, the explicit satanic themes significantly detracted from our overall experience. We hope that in the future, Beach Escape Game will improve its communication about room themes to better accommodate and respect the diverse beliefs and comfort levels...
Read moreMy friend and I took 4 girls to the Beach Escape Room while on vacation. Nox was a great host and extremely accommodating. We chose the room Abandon all hope because that was the only room available at the time that we were able to go. The puzzles were fun and slightly challenging, but when we got closer to the end is where we experienced a huge problem. Inside one of the boxes that we had to open was an ouija board. We are all Christians so we kindly asked if we could skip that part because playing with an ouija board is completely against our beliefs. Nox kindly explained to us that we were not able to skip that part due to company policy. We were not able to finish the game that we paid for and also the children that we were with were extremely traumatized by the ouija board being in the same room with them. I strongly suggest that the description should also include that there is an ouija board in the room, because if we would have known that, we would have chose a different room or chose a different company. Please advise others of what they should expect in the description, our money was wasted because of this. We have been to plenty of escape rooms and have never encountered anything like this. I should never go to an escape room and feel forced to do something that made me uncomfortable in order to complete a game. Without the ouija boards presence, we would have had a blast. Instead, we left with traumatized children. Please fix...
Read moreFound a great desk for date night for 2 people at this location. We did the Room 93, and it was difficult and confusing at first but Kenzie(I believe how you spell it) and she was great! We went later in the evening and scheduled the last booking and even being staffed by herself she made sure to start us on time, give us plenty of information to start our escape without giving it away completely. I had wanted to do an escape room since it became a thing a couple of years ago. I am glad I chose Beach Escape and Room 93. We got about 90% through before our time ran out. Even with the clues she provided throughout our escape. The only thing I would suggest at least with this specific room as it’s the only one I’ve done. I would suggest setting up a first clue/hint to get the people started instead of having to ask for a clue and potentially using that as one of the “specific amount of clues you’re aloud”. Overall great experience for our first time. Great idea for a date night. Gives you the chance to see how well you and the other person you’re saying work well under pressure lol, great Atmosphere, and great customer service. Highly recommend for locals and tourists and definitely will be...
